A #CorsiRosenthalBox can also help with poor indoor air quality due to #wildfires. Here are the instructions (in English and French) to build one and protect yourself from the harmful effects of PM2.5. If you live in the GTA, I can build one for you at cost.
@littmath I logged on here for the first time in a while, and the blue check in this quote tweet is the only one showing up in my “for you” feed.
I must have done something right 😉.
“During a first-of-its-kind, on-board joint press conference, the leaders of the three Christian churches…offered a rare and united front … against condemning LGBTQ persons, with all 3 strongly voicing opposition to the criminalization of homosexuality.” https://t.co/QJoIz910cY
I’m noticing that quoted tweets are being hidden, but not always. Is there a consistent pattern for this? Just wondering about yet another algorithm change (and feeling a little gross for making money for this site with my eyeballs)
The “Who To Follow” algorithm is now showing me people I recently blocked, red button and all. 🙃 All of Twitter curation, in fact, feels like it’s overweighting recent engagements - a one-off reply to someone pushes them into For You for days.
This has been the most science fictional few months of technology development that I have experienced.
Not sure any other technology in half a century, including the birth of the web, became relevant to so many people so suddenly and advanced so quickly as generative AI.
Strong level of spite acknowledgement on ArXiv today:
“The author thanks the U. S. NSF for rejecting every proposal he has submitted since 1987. Not needing to renew grant support and with little prospect of obtaining it, he has been free to pursue curiousity-driven science.”
For those of you who have a paper you would like to submit to Collective Intelligence, a transdisciplinary ACM/Sage Journal, but who have delayed because typing in the url takes too much effort. Here is a QR to get you there!!!
@connorvk I think it helps to be embedded in clothing communities. So, for instance, Reddit has a community called Male Fashion Advice. The people there stay very up-to-date on new brands and developments, so you can catch wind of things there. StyleForum is another great community.
Some ppl have asked how can you know if something was ethically made. I think it comes down to the ppl, and H & K are great ppl. They're a teeny company that makes stylish clothes in small batches. Prices are not inexpensive, but they are fair for MiUSA

@zeynep Not something I want to read, either. I have a hard time imagining any political leaders, at least in democratic countries, being willing to react to this. After all, it’s “just the flu.”
@barrasa_fano Thanks for sharing this story. Unfortunately, I think that we are in a time of severe backlash against the progress of women in society. What your story tells me is that people feel more free to express these opinions openly than they did 10 or 20 years ago.
I'm incredibly proud--and heartsick--to hear my 11yo stand up for his brother and friends before the bigots and bullies who control the Missouri Senate #ProtectTransKids
