@KellyMMeiners I've been on ivabridine for a couple of year (LC/POTS) and it brought my heart rate down about 20bpm and made showering bearable. But hasn't done anything for the overall crushing fatigue.
@DisabilityStor1 Not to mention those of us with MCAS, where being in the sun for more than a few minutes can start a rash that turns into a full-body open sore and lasts a month or more. I miss being able to be in the sun as much as any vampire.
@broadwaybabyto@bexsomer (But also, do they still not understand the concept of airborne transmission?? Waiting to put the mask until there's "a reason" means if they're infected they've already filled the space with it.)
@vixamechana@mightbeautistic I'm also a late-diagnosed PhD candidate, just launched my dissertation experiment re autistic representation in media (tv). Hi! :)
@NeuroRebel When I was a kid, evil stepfathers would punish/abuse me for things I now recognize were autistic behaviors. The compensatory stims I developed have had a negative impact on my health. And yet there are some things that I still do the way they wanted.
@AutisticCallum_ Yes. Also: I have saved the same articles to zotero so many times because it wasn't interesting enough in the article to remember I'd saved it. I wish they had a duplicate alert to stop me from doing that. :)
@AutisticCallum_ I have had heated debates about this with a non-autistic friend in my phd program whose area of study is etiquette. My take: Polite and nice are not the same thing as simply kind, and assessing all behavior through politeness theory is crap.
@HanTheGene Hi! I was wondering if you've found anything official (interviews etc) discussing if Bibi in Bad Sisters is officially autistic? Trying to figure out if they intend her to be but just didn't label (like Bones) or if they wanted to make her non-autistic (but left a lot of traits).
As I spend the 7th day painstakingly changing 7 menus for thousands of elements by hand because @Qualtrics has no bulk-edit for quotas or display logic, I find myself thinking back to 2008 when we made bulk-edit happen for posts in the @WordPress admin. (we = @azaozz@rboren)
Looking for another dozen or so ND volunteers to take a survey to say if rating scale questions would be easy or hard to answer. It's a study for school, takes 5-10 minutes unless you want to write lots of long comments. Which you are welcome to do. :) https://t.co/su8DM16YGP
@ForceMonument With long covid it got so much worse for me I took meds for the first time. I was worried about heart rate bc covid also gave me POTS, but methylphenidate wound up lowering my heart rate (twist!). Unfortunately, it doesn't do much for the ADHD since habituation.
