This is an informative short read on why you need to lift heavy(ish) (for you) objects and also do cardio. Your massively elevated HR after heavy 15 rep squats isn’t sufficient.
Nice abs and a strong core are pretty high on most people's wish list. But when it comes to training the core, we somehow throw out the fundamental, science-based exercise principles that govern skeletal muscle exercise adaptations. Think about it.
If you wanted bigger quads and I told you we were only doing wall squats, you'd look at me like I was crazy. That's exactly what’s happening with your core when all you’re doing is planks and 3 sets of crunches.
The size principle matters here. If you're never generating high levels of force, large portions of your motor units never get recruited — and what doesn't get recruited doesn't get stronger. Fatigue and burning are not the same as force production.
Stopping food intake 3 hours before bed may be one of the simplest ways to improve cardiovascular health
Digestion can take roughly 5 hours, so eating too close to bedtime may interfere with the parasympathetic shift that helps blood pressure and heart rate fall during sleep
In one study, people who stopped eating 3+ hours before sleep saw deeper overnight blood pressure dipping, lower heart rate, higher HRV, lower cortisol, and improved insulin sensitivity
What you eat matters, but so does *when* you eat
“I was reading my Bible this morning - Mark 9:23… All is possible with the one who believes. That’s what I was thinking in my head the whole entire time.”

Bryan Johnson reveals what you MUST do to get the best sleep possible
''Reading a book for 10 minutes before bed is as powerful as sleep medication, on some metrics it's even more powerful than sleep meds''
''Have your final meal of the day 4 hours before bed, it gives your body time to digest, and when your body has that distance it will lower its body temperature, your blood glucose will be down, melatonin is produced and it gets the body in a more relaxed state''
''You need like an hour wind down routine, if your bedtime is 10 PM, when 9 PM comes turn off all the screens and spend that hour doing things that relax you, read a book, breath work, meditation, hang out with a friend, anything but be on your screen''
