The ship is definitely sinking here. Most of my followers are already on a private chat somewhere, but for my adoring public I'm on Insta as jkdellow. Haven't picked a Mastodon instance yet but I'm sure I'll late-adopt there eventually.
Fabric Friends,
Sadly, Spool & Spindle will be closing the fabric portion of our business at the end of August (printing will continue.) Due to a combination of factors, both financial and personal, the shop can not continue in its current iteration. Check IG for all the deets
Sad news, our Xtracycle e-bike was stolen last night from our locked bike room in downtown Kitchener.
If you see it around, let us know.
This *was* our personal family vehicle so it's a pretty huge shock.

@mikeboos Counterpoint from someone who works in fulfillment: if I don't send your tracking # right away, it's a ton more work to keep track of which packages are in progress or out the door, and much more likely I send you the wrong # when I do notify you.
On Christmas eve, we follow the tradition of opening a gift: a puzzle to do together. And on @spoolandspindle advent day 24, the new year starts early with cool 2022 labels!
Yes, I'm that person, at the shops on day 23 of @spoolandspindle advent. Colin and I don't get each other big presents, but we do fill stockings, and sometimes get some little things for each other or for us both. This one we ca pretend is a surprise!
When I play yarn chicken, I try to knit faster and watch the ball. On @spoolandspindle advent day 22, I lost. Twice. First, I only made it 7 of 10 pattern repeats. Then, 6 bind off stitches from the end, I ran out. Sigh. But the result is still a cowl, if not the indended one!
With holiday crafting done, I can finally return to selfish sewing too! For @spoolandspindle day 21, starting work on a Ness skirt in this lovely lightweight corduroy. It will be a great winter skirt, and I expect I will love it to the moon and back.
On @spoolandspindle day 20, I mailed the last semi-local present, so I get to go back to my pre-holiday knitting! Mary Martin gave a really good series of classes on her new technique for the @KWKnittersGuild, and I'm working on her Confluence cowl in super bright colours!
More baking for @spoolandspindle advent day 19, because holidays. Even with very few people to share my baking with, I still have the urge this time of year.
I do not have a kitty sidekick, but Colin sometimes behaves like a cat. And he enjoys my baking!
On day 18, it snowed, yay! Now I need that yay label! Today's labels are pretty great too, but I feel like they missed a great opportunity for a rainbow.
It had to happen eventually, I missed a day (and nearly two) of @spoolandspindle advent!
Catching up: on day 17 I dealt with tax and gov paperwork, which is enough work for anyone. The labels do not match my mood afterwards, since I was unable to get it all done.
I came home from work on @spoolandspindle advent day 16 to a fridge full of groceries, delicious turkey chili, and a glass of wine, all thanks to Best Husband(tm). Some days, it's nice not to have to make anything!
Day 15 of @spoolandspindle advent was pretty quiet, and neither of us felt like cooking, so dinner tonight was leftovers and grazing. I love a good charcuterie! Or even a small, basic one, made with love!
My last* knitted present is done**! No full picture in case the recipient sees it, but I think day 14 of @spoolandspindle advent is a success! And I'm wearing a me-made dress today, even if there's no party.
*probably, there's time for more...

We got some gingerbread syrup, so my festive treat for @spoolandspindle advent day 23 is a gingerbread latte with a linzer cookie! Yes, I ate half that cookie before I could get it posed for a photo in my office/craft room. So?
Moar cookies for @spoolandspindle advent day 12! Our production line plans to make sugar, gingerbread, and linzer cookies, with enthusiastic (if a little unskilled) decorations. And again, today's labels match my big dreams of cookie glory.
