Excellent session by Jennifer Rose @ManchesterUniv on scaffolded formative assignments . Love the ‘TEACHER’ framework to help students reflect, compare & nurture inner feedback #AheConf2024. Clear, focused, practical approach. Great insights. Good impact too!
@emilynagoski your book burnout was the inspiration for any keynote speech at the @cabacharity AGM. Love this quote which was my introduction and conclusion!
Really nice to see slides on #activefeedback by @jennirosetutor for Leeds Uni. Happy we could exchange slides :-) .
Also have some upcoming workshops on #innerfeedback for teachers and teacher trainers. Really great to work on this theme to restore balance in feedback practices.
The lovely @DocWinstone keynoting on the baggage that’s holding us back from thinking productively about effective feedback processes (so we can, I hope, travel more speedily and lightly!).
@bastrimbos@kay_sambell@AheConference ThIs guide best portrays power of having students use comparisons to generate own feedback. They start by making feedback judgements using only resources then consider how thinking aligns/differs from peers. Only then receive teacher judgements. https://t.co/xuaGgRnQzi
The action has to be teaching students to use comparative judgement to write their own feedback - not waiting and relying on teachers. This empowers students to normalise students judging themselves and does not add to lecturer workload
@EmmaMedland@AheConference Me too! I drove to uni and the. Walked to the conference near the train station rather than my usual route which is the other way round!
