The premise of this war was a childish imperial fantasy.
Trump thought a surprise strike could decapitate Iran’s leadership, collapse the state, control the escalation, and turn Tehran into another Caracas.

He mistook Venezuela for a template.
Iran became the wall.

Now Washington is trapped between its own propaganda and reality:
declaring an “indefinite ceasefire” while the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, pretending control while the entire region watches the limits of American power unfold in real time.

And after this war, nothing returns to normal.

America’s Middle East allies have now seen the truth:
U.S. military bases do not necessarily protect them.
They can also turn them into targets.
They can become liabilities dressed up as security guarantees.

That calculation will not disappear.

Iran paid a terrible price.
But it also exposed something the world was not supposed to see so clearly:
America is not all-powerful.

It cannot always call the shots.
