Zohran Mamdani is reportedly using his taxpayer-funded influencer army to smear New York CEOs who oppose him raising taxes. He’s driving businesses out. That means more of the tax burden falls on the people who stay.

The New York Post reported tonight that Mamdani’s inner circle, the bullpen, is planning coordinated hits on business leaders, including Pfizer’s Albert Bourla, Related Companies’ Jeff Blau, and Steve Fulop at the Partnership for New York City. The point is to soften the ground for Mamdani’s tax-the-rich push heading into 2027.

Misusing taxpayer funds to attack constituents isn’t new for Mamdani. City Hall already runs a Signal group of about 200 creators. They get talking points and they’re paid to spread them. Some of that money has moved through city contracts. Mamdani’s office says it doesn’t pay people to cover him. It just pays to advertise for him. That shouldn’t be legal.

New York doesn’t need a mayor who treats CEOs like content or the enemy. If his policies were good, he’d argue them. They’re not. So he hired a troll farm and called it communications. Voters should remember they paid for smears against the businesses that keep the city afloat.

Mamdani only “balanced” his first budget by taking billions from New York State and kicking pension interest down the road. That isn’t fiscal responsibility. Now he’s attacking CEOs of the companies he needs to stay and calling them the problem. His spending well over a billion a year on services for migrants is a problem. If he wasn’t doing that, he could’ve balanced the budget without a bailout.

Mamdani is already a fiscal failure. He’s making it worse by spending tax dollars to chase off the tax dollars he needs, then paying influencers to sell a socialist fairy tale. When that money dries up, the influencers leave. Without the propaganda, the record is just the record. That’s when it gets real ugly for Mamdani.
