@drgoatofficial@moochdad@StefanFSchubert Yes, that is also an important aspect. Market rents could push out people with low incomes from the central areas. A lot of flats in Stockholm are owned by public housing companies. So I guess the public also gets richer in that case
@moochdad@StefanFSchubert An important context is that the central areas, that have the highest increases in rent according to the map, are inhabited by people with higher incomes on average. So this should mean that market rents could decrease inequality, even if a majority of people increase their rent
@StefanFSchubert@expertretar Dysfunctional housing market is maybe a better term. I agree that market rents is the way to go. But there is probably other policy changes that could increase housing development in Stockholm.
@expertretar@StefanFSchubert Yes, I agree that every system has tradeoffs. But I think we should prioritize a system that makes it more profitable to build flats and thereby decrease housing shortage. I think that the current system is neither good nor fair
@VilgotHuhn Yes, I have rated risk of bias of hundreds of systematic reviews and the majority are really bad. Cochrane reviews are usually very high quality
@motivatedjoy@VilgotHuhn No, I truly believe that Cremieux is a skillful data scientist. I understand that many people find him offensive. I don’t support his political views
@VilgotHuhn I wonder if Mr C read and chose to disregard your comments. Can’t be good for your sleep to be pro-MAGA and pro-science in current day USA.
@RYChappell As I recall, this is Eric Schwitzgebel’s defense of the hypocrisy of professional ethicists. We do not want their beliefs to be corrupted by their actions
