@ProfJennyGamble @twiterrs @Deborah62655228 There are not enough midwives to provide a sustainable, liveable continuity model. There are not enough midwives to train the required number of student midwives to replace the deficit. Continuity is driving midwives to retirement, meaning the skill mix of the workforce is poor.

@ProfJennyGamble @twiterrs @Deborah62655228 In my Trust, most people who have just given birth are in maximum 2 days unless critically unwell/baby is critically unwell. Continuity won’t work in most areas due to high levels of staff burnout and the profession haemorrhaging midwives. (1/2)
