Our HWDSB family is small: you may recognize some of your colleagues here, having fun for the benefit of the Ancaster community-costumes, masks, and all! Nice work, @Ancaster_HWDSB bringing some laughs to the kids! 👏👏
There are benefits to both synchronous and asynchronous learning. When thoughtful educators use an array of strategies designed for student wellness & learning, good things happen.
Thanks, @JoeBowerHWDSB ! Those are some excellent words to live by. I’ll share my recent mantra for my #5wordchallenge :
“Risk. Try. Fail. Learn. Repeat.”🌟✅ Next up?? I nominate: @tidridge @dschroederHWDSB @bwoof@daniellepacey@j91966 🎉🎉
@bill_torrens @SStephanian@HWDSBLearning I wonder how our learners have changed over 15+ yrs since these studies were conducted. Ss are surrounded by constantly changing, highly visual environments that impact their attention and learning strategies. Let’s let simplified digital spaces allow for deeper thinking. 🎉
This weekend explore 17 of the world’s art museums with your kids! Thanks @WeAreTeachers for providing a link to the best virtual museum tours for families. #LearnAtHome#onted#edutwitter https://t.co/0U1X2aixNq
@vanderwalc @tidridge @JobinaDAloisio@rflosman@vanderwalc The awkwardness of re-starting six times, only to have the fam cheer from the kitchen when I finally “nail it”. 😂😂We won’t forget these days....🤣
Great message to share with I/S students. April 3’s episode of this podcast interviews astronaut Scott Kelly who spent a year alone in space. 🚀🛰Great tips on coping with social separation and managing the unknown... with a positive outlook. 🌎https://t.co/7vaHsfTyu8
To all our Royals who are learning in new ways with many challenges, we are here to listen, help, and work together to find solutions. We know that not everyone is set up yet. Your teachers understand and care. If you can, contact us so we know what you need. You’re not alone.
Aaaand....we did it!!! 🎉 Whether Day 1 of Distance Learning was smooth-sailing or bumpy, WHAT AN EXPERIENCE✨ to be part of this energizing community of risk-taking teachers and students. Congrats to all! And a MASSIVE thank you to @HWDSBLearning for being our sherpas! 💯
@BishopKeery Please share the following feedback: Remember that a visual aid needs to engage an audience using images, colour, graphics and other visual elements. 😂😂 And if she can train that hairless cat to be a co-presenter, the dog’s as good as hers!!!
I am seeing a lot of misinformation about #Assessment & #Evaluation. #GrowingSuccess is an incredibly flexible policy that has huge room for Teacher Professional Judgement & how students show learning through conversations, observations & products https://t.co/qXobHF3227 #OntEd

As we head into remote learning starting on Monday, April 6, there are still many questions. Please read my letter to parents/guardians about how the TDSB is moving forward. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this new learning model. https://t.co/skfsjHbc9r #tdsbdirector
@JoeBowerHWDSB @HWDSB@Ancaster_HWDSB@HWDSBLearning I think having kids help to determine realistic expectations will be helpful. Working online allows for increased individualization so we can really meet each student where he/she’s at. 👍
I'm no expert on remote learning but here are some things that could have helped this week and may help schools transitioning in the next couple of weeks (thread) (1) Post 1 assignment PER WEEK (at least to start) for ALL grade levels.
