But this feels like fortitious timing, especially with this olodo uprising conversation that's been going on.

I have no issue with population growth, however we're churning out far more people than we can cater for.

We'll be the third largest country in the world by 2050, but how many of those people will be educated? How many will have access to quality healthcare? How many will live above $2 per day? How many won't be working low paying jobs? How many won't be trying to japa? How many won't be pushed into yahoo and runs?

We can sit in our armchairs and cheer on our exportation of human capital to the West.
But how much of that human capital isn't funnelled into low paying jobs over there? How much of that human capital isn't used to prop up the financial systems of the West by funding their pensions through taxation?

When the fortunes of the Western empires were drying up back in the day, the idea was to look outward and set up colonies to prop up their finances. And we're clearly doing the same thing over again.

Their ancestors brought mirrors and guns and took slaves to work their plantations.

This time they're bringing gigs and low paying jobs and taking 40 years off you to prop up their financial system.

All for what?

For a mansion in Enugu that you'll step foot in once in 5 years? Or investments your kids will sell off because they can't live here?

We are a market. But maybe it's just a 22nd century slave market.

I like how she mentioned the informal economy, and until we take a leaf out of China or Singapore or maybe India's playbook, we'll keep fucking like ants and breeding even more poverty.

Let me explain to you why this worked and how you can actually incorporate the same logic into your life.

Early in my career I was into sales and I had this mentor that coached me. He was really good at work he did.

He taught me a trick years that felt almost unfair.

Before pitching a decision maker, he'd say:

"I'm happy I'm finally talking to someone who can actually make decisions. You seem like a very decisive person."

Then he'd make his pitch and leave.

His close rate was ridiculous.

When I asked why it worked, he said:

"Because once people accept an identity, they start behaving in ways that protect it."

The cleaner gave him an identity and he did everything to protect it without knowing he was being manipulated.

Nobody is coming to save you.

That may sound harsh, but for many people, it is one of the most important truths they will ever learn.

The world keeps moving whether you are winning or struggling. Bills will still arrive. Time will still pass. Opportunities will still come and go. The people you are waiting for to rescue you may be busy fighting battles of their own.

At some point in life, you realize that no phone call is coming to magically change everything. No government, family member, friend, partner, or stranger is guaranteed to appear at the perfect moment and carry your burdens for you.

The painful reality is that the person who will spend the most time with your problems is you.

You must be the one who gets up when disappointment knocks you down. You must be the one who keeps moving when fear tells you to stop. You must be the one who continues to believe when nobody else sees your vision.

People may support you. Some may encourage you. A few may even walk part of the journey with you. But nobody can live your life for you. Nobody can fight every battle for you. Nobody can build your future while you sit and wait.

The strongest people are not those who never needed help. They are the ones who accepted that help may not always come and decided to move forward anyway.

So stop waiting for the perfect rescue. Stop waiting for someone to understand your pain completely. Stop waiting for circumstances to become ideal.

Save yourself.

Learn the skill. Make the call. Start the business. Leave the toxic environment. Take the risk. Do the work. Heal from the hurt. Build the life you want with the hands you have today.

Because one day you will look back and realize that the hero you were waiting for never arrived.

I never thought I'd be building a web app. Ever.

I studied biochemistry. I started running Facebook ads in 2019. I'm a marketer, a media buyer. Software was never the plan.

But some problems don't ask for your permission. They just make it impossible to look away.

There was a month where our revenue was the best it had ever been in our partner businesses and our sub brands. The account was ringing. Notifications everywhere. The whole team felt like we had finally arrived.

Then I sat down to actually look.
