People who oppose higher taxes on other people richer than them, are delusional or think they too will be rich one day…
They don’t care about something ONLY in proportion to its impact on their own circumstances.
And they often will explain their reasoning as such.
They don’t think something is good or bad, just because it’s good or bad for them.
They think it’s bad on principle or its merit .
If you ONLY care about whether you do or don’t benefit… then by definition that’s no being principled…
It’s called being OPPORTUNISTIC.
But people who do in fact ONLY base the merit of something on its direct impact on them, will typically PROJECT, and assume that everyone else is operating on that same premise…
And even if that were the case…
They would then want to punish someone in the zero sum game they created, because for them, if someone else wins, they obviously lose.
You can’t properly govern from this kind of world view…
One that is by its very definition, predicated on projecting insecurity and punishing people for the crime of desiring to live their lives existing outside of what we happens to be in your best interests…
