I have seen a video of an American man who bought a printer 5 years ago , he has been using it to print documents in his house. The printer has always requested access to the wifi but since he has been doing mainly flash disc printing he ignored it . Each time he run out of ink he just bought and refilled it.
His sister came to visit and wanted to print some photos online so she connected the printer to the wifi , after a software update the printer has refused to print using the ink and wants the HP ink which goes for 5 times the cost of the brand he has been using.
