A slightly delayed post-Chennai update, but we are very pleased to announce that the inaugural Jersey Women's Olympiad Team placed 4th in their category and +10 places from their initial seeding. Tallulah, Rachel, and Daisy also all achieved individual conditional WCM titles!

The Open Team achieved 133rd place and Jem Gurner also made a conditional CM title based on his individual performance. Huge congratulations to both teams who fought hard throughout the 11 round tournament. ♟️

Very proud of the @JerseyChess women's team in their first Olympiad. 3 players achieved conditional WCM titles & they narrowly missed out on a category medal (4th on tiebreak!) - no doubt next time will be even better!

Meanwhile the Jersey Open Team have had some excellent individual performances with Paul C making a draw today vs an International Master and Jem Gurner beating a FIDE Master. The team is on 1/4 after beating Central African Republic. Best of luck for tomorrow! 🍀 #ChessOlympiad

Yasmin is a very talented teenage chess player and Lula is currently Jersey’s highest rated female.
