@MadManLeaks Yep, a fair trade if all fans are upset! I think for the Rockets, you have to love what you’ll get this year at pick 7 to give up Durant and the Suns 2027 first round pick. I’m still in the group that runs it back next year and then maybe does a soft restart in 2027.
@RedNinetyFour That made no sense. Why are some first draft picks Stone’s and some aren’t? He’s the GM and unless there is some information where he did not get final say on a pick, I have no clue what the point is.
@jonastyle_ I think teller thing most frustrating about Alpi is inconsistency. Some nights he looks like an all NBA talent. Other nights, he’s one of the worst defenders on the court and then doesn’t contribute offensively. I’m still on board because you can see the talent.
@AstroboyHTX@AbelGe87 I agree with that. I think his athleticism is not so bad for the center position. He’s probably average to below average size for a center. He’s vertical explosiveness is also not exceptional but he has ok lateral movement and is smart. He has potential to be above average
@Wtever2024@AbelGe87 The numbers say what? I’m a Rockets fan and I can’t even say Alpi is a good run defender. He has none of the qualities of a good rim defender. He’s undersized and doesn’t have the explosiveness needed to make up for it. Alpi is also not as bad as some on Twitter say, but be real
@fyrebear Agreed that was a terrible series. I’m no Chet fan but he did make all NBA, all defensive team, and was second in DPOY award so he earned that contract in the regular season. I don’t think you give up on that type of player, but it must have been hard for OKC fans to watch it
@fyrebear Chet’s contract situation looks so different now that the playoffs are over. Chet by all measures had a good regular season, all NBA and all defensive team and second is DPOY. He earned that contract. Now people are not sure he’s even playable against Wemby.
@nbatweetsetc@RedNinetyFour I’m not saying Stone drafted for need. I don’t know. I’m saying Reed was considered a better prospect by a lot of people and Reed fit a desperate need for the Rockets. It’s a terrible decision in hindsight but at the time was easily defendable.
@fyrebear Luck is huge. OKC started out this year on pace to be one of the greatest teams in NBA history. Lost their second and third best ball handlers in the Spurs series and now are going home. Meanwhile the Spurs lucked into Wemby
@JamesPiercey11 I can’t imagine Harden and Sengun on the same team. May be fun to watch the offense, but we would have way too many defensive issues for teams to target. Harden is not really a good off ball option on offense either when Sengun has the ball.
@JamesPiercey11 I heard reports that Harden already has a “handshake” offer from the Cavs to return. That’s why he didn’t fight the trade to Cleveland from LA where he could’ve stayed home and taken the same PO
