@Rob_Shenanigans I just hope they go best player available the whole way. That’s basically what they did last year and it worked until except the Gabriel pick in the third.
@RuiterWrongFAN Cleveland media talks like they’ve never played a snap.
Forcing OL because it’s a need is how you miss. Take the best football player on the board.
@scottsvb@ESPNCleveland Right, because taking the best OL automatically wins games.
We had a Hall of Fame LT in Joe Thomas for 11 years and won 48 games. Elite tackle didn’t fix anything.
Keep forcing need over BPA and ignoring skill and we’ll just repeat it, great tackle, same results.
@Rob_Shenanigans@ultCLEsports I really hope we wait on tackle. There are legit options later like Miller, Iheanachor, Lomu, Dunker.
It’s more about continuing to ignore BPA. If a tackle isn’t the best player at 6, don’t force it. Take the best player and find your tackle later.
@RuiterWrongFAN You already know Berry’s zigging when everyone thinks zag.
Guard at 6, TE at 24 and we’ll all be sitting there like… yep, classic Browns
@LayneStaley1994 @FBGreatMoments That’s the point though. “Now” proves development matters.
Allen and Lamar landed in stable systems that built around them. Baker was the most pro-ready, got thrown in early, and hit his ceiling fast.
Cleveland hasn’t shown they can develop raw QBs like that.
@LayneStaley1994 @FBGreatMoments You’re doing the same thing with Allen. Nobody thought he was pro ready coming out of Wyoming.
Baker was widely seen as the most pro ready in that class, that’s why he went 1 and played right away. That was the take at the time, not hindsight, line your post
@LayneStaley1994 @FBGreatMoments Baker was the most pro-ready QB in that class, that’s why he played right away and had early success.
Allen was raw, Darnold had the higher ceiling imo but needed development. Baker was the one you could plug in Day 1. That’s the difference.
@LayneStaley1994 @FBGreatMoments Josh Allen wasn’t pro ready when he was drafted. His rookie year in Buffalo was rough.
If the Browns had taken him back then, they would’ve rushed him, changed systems, and ruined him
@cityphil73@___Colb___ Cherry picking 3 games doesn’t define a prospect. Look at the full body of work and traits, not a couple box scores.
I’ll bow out here, this isn’t going anywhere. You don’t know ball.
@cityphil73@___Colb___ You’re missing it.
Tate is a prospect you develop into that guy. Jeudy already had that label and isn’t it.
That’s exactly why you keep taking swings on high-end WR talent
@cityphil73@___Colb___ Every top QB also has weapons around him. That’s the point.
Jeudy wouldn’t even be WR1 in those situations, he’d be fighting for snaps. In Cleveland he’s the “#1” and that says everything.
