Risk parameter updates for Zest Protocol Borrow v1 and v2, effective 20th August.

Liquidity conditions for $STX have changed since borrow parameters were originally set. In thin liquidity, STX can move up sharply, and a fast rise in the price of borrowed STX pushes debt value up against collateral faster.

Parameters are adjusting to keep protocol health in line with current liquidity conditions.

What changes on V2:

The liquidation threshold for $STX denominated borrows moves to 45% for partial liquidations and 50% for full liquidations (down from 55% for partial liquidations and 60% for full liquidations). Positions get liquidated earlier, in smaller steps, before a rising STX price outrun them.

The LTV for the $STX denominated borrows stays at 30%. Nothing changes about how much users can borrow.

What changes on V1:

V1 thresholds are stepping down to match V2, in weekly increments, so no position faces a sudden cliff.

$stSTX, $stSTXbtc and $STX liquidation thresholds move from 70% to 65% on August 20.

sBTC moves from 75% to 70% on August 20, then steps down every 7 days: 65%, 60%, 55%, 50%. These lower liqudiation thresholds are required to avoid issues with STX denominated debt against sBTC in the event of a rising STX price.

What to do:

Check your health factor. If your position sits near the current thresholds, repay part of your loan or add collateral before August 20.
