Not sure who needs to hear this but I am mentoring on ADPList ๐! You can book a 1:1 session with me and we can chat about content strategy and design, getting started, managing stakeholders, collaboration, and more (for free - just paying it forward)

@austonchhor I wrote this tweet earlier today that sums it up for me.
Saying those streets are good enough is saying you think everyone who bikes must be bold, strong, or have disposable income.

So disappointing.
It's not fair that only people who get to bike where they want are those bold enough to ride close to cars, strong enough to pedal uphill, wealthy enough to have an e-bike.
Bikes should be for everyone, not just middle-aged men in lycra #vanpoli

And it's official. ABC (the green votes) just voted to effectively kill the Broadway active transportation line.
Despite their spin, this is very obviously a huge step backwards for Vancouver's active transportation, road safety, and climate action goals. #vanpoli
@candiwrites She totally captured why it always felt weirdly icky to go around advocating for content design. So helpful to see there is a better way, laid out
@jhpot I've been doing this for a few years and it's great, for all those reasons. I need to go back to remembering to sign out though at the end of a session of scrolling - that was even better
I submit: "only a fool mistakes the simplicity of the tools for the complexity of the craft"
Thanks to @chhopsky for giving us this little beauty honoring the craft of writing itself

Writing Puzzle #54
Itโs the last week of the year so weโd like to ask you to celebrate language, instead of criticizing it.
Share the most beautiful sentence (or portion of a sentence) that you read in 2022.
Timnit Gebru brings up a really important issue here: the Effective Altruism (EA) community might be making global poverty worse, or at least perpetuating it, by failing to recognize the importance of empowering those in extreme poverty themselves. A short ๐งต.
@erinbschroeder I think we're in different servers depending on what was available/taking sign ups at the time. I am on one called https://t.co/7xbaZVR49k, I have seen other content folk on https://t.co/ONwemfDKea
I didn't tweet much but I'll miss every minute of this waste of time if it ceases to exist. All the jokes, viral tweet memes, birdwatching photography, the amazing content folks on here. Fediverse or no, there will never again be a combo quite like it.
@heyitsmejak This is heavily oversimplified, but I might say something like...
"This map shows how people feel when they do things with our company, so that we can see what moments cause the most frustration. Then our team can decide how we can make our service better."
I used to be very frustrated that I couldn't nail down a morning routine consistently.
Thought it was me - am I lazy? Disorganized?
No - I just think differently.
If you struggle with morning routines or consistency in routines, this is for you:
@AmaliaEFowler What a great idea! ๐ก Similarly I find I don't have the je ne sais quoi to just do everything I want to.
I like that your approach offers some structure of the things you want to do and when, but the flexibility to choose what you have the energy and interest to do.
From grocery stores perspective,
a) they don't want to devote resources to keeping another detail on price tags up to date, and
b) they have higher profit margins when you don't buy the cheapest price/unit product
Unit pricing is powerful and everyone should be able to easily read it at the grocery store.
But let's be honest here: retailers don't want it mandatory & in large print because they think it's better for them this way

@halvorson It was such a pleasure & so valuable to attend Confab the year before last, and I wouldn't have been able to without the equity scholarship that was organized. Thank you for all the amazing things you have brought to our community.
