@JRobinson19 She's definitely cosplaying as poor, but private school tuition was not 40k+ in the 90s. Harpeth was probably closer to 15k a year back then.
Her dad was a surgeon and her mom was a Vanderbilt University Prof.
At this point, I don't know if these people lie to themselves, or if they just lie to other people.
in your lifetime, you’ll meet a man that you believe is misunderstood by others and actually kind if given the chance.
it is VERY important you never interact with him because everyone else is right, he is evil.
There is no way to bypass the uncomfortable parts of anything you do that is worthwhile. It comes with growing pains, missteps, failures, setbacks and all that. You have to expand your capacity to cope healthily with discomfort if you want to accomplish anything in this life.
And the National Cancer Institute is currently funding a trial on self-collected screening methods in the US. But we need more large scale data to put this into practice! https://t.co/Spnd7fkYWC
Now seems like a great time to point out that scientists are looking for ways to use menstrual blood or self collected vaginal swabs as alternatives to Pap smears for cervical cancer detection! Support politicians who will fund the sciences!
hi, medical and women's historian here: women's fear of pap smears, as well as their fear of vaginal exams, is beyond reasonable. gynecology has been rife with misogyny for centuries, the "father of modern gynecology" practiced on slaves w/o anesthesia. don't ridicule other women
Someone said “The slow burn of becoming yourself” and I think that might be one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. It’s such a good reminder of how much it takes, how much character development, how much change, and beauty and courage it takes to reach your soul and I hope no one ever gives up on becoming themselves because it’s a never ending journey that only gets better.
I think there’s a way to have the conversation you think you’re having about pain management in reproductive healthcare that doesn’t involve handwringing and fearmongering about an overwhelmingly safe and nearly foolproof birth control method
I hope this level of pessimism never finds me. No one agrees to work 24 hours for the love of “healthcare conglomerate LLC.” They are doing it for the privilege of taking care of PEOPLE!
your relationship with discipline changes so much when you shift doing things from shame to love. from ‘i have to clean’ to realizing i deserve to have a clean home. from ‘i need to work out’ to i deserve to have a healthy body. you deserve to have the best from yourself.
