Life has deep suffering. Everyone bears their own burdens, like Frodo carrying the ring. The good news of Christianity is not that suffering is taken away, but that its not meaningless. The cross you bear in this world is leading to glory. Comforting thought.
rehearsing for my upcoming solo tour (pacing around with guitar annoying children… “daddy stop screaming” - “i’m not screaming i’m trying to learn my songs” - “please learn somewhere else”) and feeling grateful and happy. see you soon, hopeful you will all have better attitudes.
To everyone out there suffering, here is a comforting thought: the one through whom the entire world was made knows what it means to suffer (Heb 2:18). What you are experiencing is not only within his omniscience, but within his experience. You are not in uncharted territory.

The people of God must advocate for every vulnerable image-bearer—for the unborn, for the poor, for the discriminated against, for the marginalized, for the forgotten.
You should run from sin, but when you fall, it is vital to remember that all of your sin, past, present and future has been paid for and forgiven by the work of Jesus.
Our job then is not to add to their shame, not to bury them in "I told you so"'s, not to celebrate or mock their disappointment or their humiliation, but instead to gladly run to receive them and joyfully embrace them. Let's decide now to wait with grace at the ready.
Some of our parents, siblings, fellow church members will eventually (we hope) come back from the far country of political obsession, devastated that their idols failed them and perhaps ashamed they went all-in on empty promises . . .
