As a taxpayer, can I just ask where the work is in this timetable? Feels awfully like a medical student role with a few small aspects of a HCA or admin assistant. For the cost of a registrar...

🔸PA employed using funding for SAS doc
🔸PA admitting she knew nothing prior to starting
🔸Spends 50% of time in theatre and the rest ‘assessing’ new patients
🔸After 8 weeks learning she’s ready to train others and manage patients
The only reason PAs ever give for not wanting to be a Dr is the hard work & long training required.

Some ‘simple patients I’ve seen as a GP
• Runny nose in baby ➡️ sepsis
• Back pain ➡️ myeloma
• Dizziness ➡️ stroke
• Sore throat ➡️ quinsy
• Wart ➡️ skin cancer
• “feeling off” ➡️ heart attack
Simple is a RETROSPECTIVE diagnosis
