@chnews@jbaraldi11 I know what you are getting at but I am wondering if there won't be unexpected downstream effects. If most players are starting at 18, the top prospects may spread out more rather than be concentrating in 10 teams.
To my North American friends and the hockey community:
Although you are far from Europe and may not see or feel the reality of russia’s actions - killing hundreds of people in Ukraine daily - we in Europe see it clearly. We are telling you that letting them back into international competition is not an option until russia gets the F out of Ukraine.
To North American hockey journalists: start asking the right questions. Ask rus players how they feel about their country occupying neighboring nations. You will be "surprised" by the results.
An American Revolution film would make the Right crash out so hard. Washington forcing his troops to get inoculated against smallpox. A gay foreigner teaching our men how to be proper soldiers. It would be the wokest movie ever and also 100% true.
@hobbyXXXchange@JCtheSwede@frank_seravalli Teams like Toledo could pay more. The league has too many dead weight teams that don't draw fans and struggle to make payroll as it is.
@JCtheSwede@frank_seravalli The problem isn't Toledo or the other teams that do well with attendance. The issue is the league has teams like wheeling that struggle to sell 1000 tickets for a playoff game. Those teams can't afford to pay more
Working in a hospital 2020 we were seeing waves of people dying of Covid.
It was terrifying.
When the vaccines came out we were fighting to get to it
The sense of relief getting the first dose was enormous.
I'll never forget that time, even if you all have.
Been saying this for awhile, but will repeat it for emphasis: If you love freedom but don’t care if it applies to everyone, what you actually love is privilege.
@uptownjesusRS@DStarmanHockey Attendance in Toledo this year was good, even when the close schools were out, and we have an outstanding arena, and frankly Toledo has become an underrated hockey hotbed. Pick another crappy site for your example.
The Department of Central Planning and Child Rearing has figured out the optimal number of dolls and pencils each child should have to make beautiful Republic.
"So, Ukraine must forget about NATO, Ukraine must recognize Russian occupation, Russia will get Ukrainian territories, and sanctions lifted, and extensive economic cooperation with the U.S., Russia gives nothing in return and doesn't even promise never to invade Ukraine again, Ukraine gets no clear security guarantees, no certain postwar reconstruction aid, no peacekeepers -- and by the way, Ukraine has to cede it's entire economy to pay imaginary war reparations to Donald Trump, and U.S. is not giving neither any security guarantees, nor futher defense aid."
I mean, wow, Art of the Deal for a war that Russia absolutely didn't win and Ukraine didn't lose, wow.
I feel the hand of a stable genius here.
In 2013, Ukraine was neutral:
🔹 60% of Ukrainians opposed NATO membership, and NATO wasn’t interested in accepting.
🔹 82% had a positive view of Russia
🔹 Only 6,000 troops were combat-ready
🔹 Euromaidan was about the EU, not NATO - even pro-Russian Yanukovych saw Russia’s limits
No 'NATO expansion threat'. No anti-Russian sentiment. Yet in 2014, Russia invaded, annexed Crimea, and started the war in Donbas.
It was never about NATO—it was about control.
Oh cool so “fraud” is just “stuff the richest person on earth unilaterally, ideological disagree with”. Amazing how that worked out. Then perhaps this should be the frame our media employs rather than letting him hide behind faux high minded rhetoric about “waste and abuse”
