@mclanea Short-term only for any event type of things. Like 1-2 weeks ahead. Otherwise, looking at big picture stuff like how we disciple, engage kids in Scripture and community, serve our own community in new ways and dreaming how we do those things with lots of flexibility.
@kyleblasdel As someone from outside Wichita who comes to events at C2 on a fairly regular basis, I will never understand why some people defend that place so vigorously... Nothing about it feels welcoming or modern. Seems like a no-brainer to find a way to fund something new.
If you’re unbothered or mildly bothered by the 1st knee, but outraged by the 2nd, then, in my father’s words, you’re “more devoted to order than to justice.” And more passionate about an anthem that supposedly symbolizes freedom than you are about a Black man’s freedom to live.
@mclanea We've been doing drive-up check-ins. Stay in the driveway, keep lots of distance. Usually the whole family comes out to talk because they are so starved for connection with familiar faces.
@mclanea Our question right now is "What is essential to discipling students in the way of Jesus?" Relationships and spiritual disciplines make the cut. Zoom games... they can happen, but they are really unimportant. Netflix is way more entertaining than I can be at the most basic level.
@jjosephpalmer My 2 cents: I think the focus shifts to the technical and away from the relational by default with these, and we are made for and hunger for the relationship. Pastors love people and we miss them!
@mclanea I mean, they already have a huge investigation into recruiting violations/Adidas and a target of being a "blue blood" every game. I'll be interested to see how they play tomorrow!
@mclanea I'm a Jayhawks fan and think he deserved at least the 12 he got, but he was only averaging a couple minutes/game. I don't think it results in 4+ additional losses. Next 3 games will be tricky with 2 bigs suspended...
There is nothing more Spirit-filled, in our polarizing times, than disagreeing with each other while resisting the force to demonize each other. ~ Christine Pohl
@zacheadings But it might be shady... this is the problem of the perception (and reality) of how our gov't works these days. You can't trust any reason given by anyone with power.
How sad it must be to be a Trump supporter
Believing that scientists, scholars, teachers, economists, & journalists have devoted their entire lives to deceiving you, while a reality TV star with decades of fraud and documented lying is your only beacon of truth & honesty.
