My dad’s fight with leukemia and lymphoma has come to an end. He’s fought incredibly hard. I’ve learned through this process that watching someone die from cancer is a very, very specific and brutal kind of pain. (dad is far right).

This is a story that those close to it have known, but I’ve never publicly shared. I had the honor of being around during @rhettlashlee’s first two seasons as head coach. During Rhett’s first season back, my dad lost his battle with leukemia. Rhett and his staff welcomed my dad
with open arms at fall camp during his final days. And when my dad passed away midseason, I chose to keep traveling and being around the team — partly because it’s what my dad wanted, but also because they had become family. They were my support system.
