People are still framing politics in America as Democrats v Republicans when the fundamental issue is structural whiteness and anti-Black racism.
It’s the well-to-do white women who throw all women under the bus in order to preserve their racial privilege, all under the guise of “protecting our children”.
It’s all the commentators and news outlets who frame this dynamic by saying “it’s about education.”
In 1988, @RevJJackson joined @BernieSanders and @janeosanders at the Children's Space in Burlington to advocate for national investment in child care, education, and paying teachers fairly. The struggle for a change in our national priorities continues today.
