@DrMuellersVoice Husband and I are both career HS teachers (19 & 21 years so far). We love it, but tell our own kids to do something else. Love the students & many of our co-workers, but the fatigue, emotional drain & lack of financial reward is very real. We both work extra jobs to make it work

@Ed_Realist @sage_stage @Digory29 @bmo72 In my district, we assume PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY if a phone we take is damaged or lost. There is NO WAY I'm going to take a phone & be on the hook for it! There's no way for me to prove the screen was cracked before I took it.

Teachers should not be assigned duties requiring them to monitor bathrooms or cafeterias. Any non-instructional time should be teacher-directed work time. Honor the work of educators, treat them like professionals, and allow them to actually do their jobs.

@anactualwalnut My husband and I are both teachers. I consider us LUCKY to have bought our home 15 years ago. We were able to refinance when the rates were super low. There is no way we'd be able to afford to buy our house today!

@msrebeccabirch @aelredsfriend The admin that ran me out of my previous building said I would be easy to replace. I had been there 8 years, was teaching multiple specialized preps, sponsoring clubs & coaching. The 1st year I was gone it took at least 5 different staff members to replace me. 🤷‍♀️

@candice_counsel I had a sinus infection & old white dude dr wanted to argue with me about my IUD! Couldn't remember the name, but knew it was copper & non-hormonal. He said it was Mirena. I was certain it WASN'T & he replied "You don't know what you're talking about." I was LIVID!
