Never forget that teachers don't get to choose the programs they use, the curriculum they follow, or how the students are grouped to receive intervention. We are often asked to "be creative" when the only effective solution is to change the program, or to rearrange groups, or to have additional staff support the children.
Many teachers(experienced and new ones) get burned out because the system often asks them to do what is ineffective and sets them and their students up for failure.
@TreeHouseBrewCo Indeed! The first time I had this out of a growler shared with friends was nothing short of a transcendent experience. It might be my favorite beer of all time.
@flyingmonkey13 That's fantastic. We need great people in these roles. If you ever want to move to bucolic Western Massachusetts, I know some excellent school districts that would benefit from your leadership!
@arenella1 I'm surprised Musk allowed this to be published on his propaganda platform. This site - which used to be a wonderful source of connection and collaboration - has become a real dumpster fire. With that being said, I appreciate your patriotism and willingness to share.
@coachcullen411 Thanks, Kevin. I've really just dabbled in Bluesky. Haven't had the time to recreate myself over there. I actually created a profile 2 years ago but forgot about it. I primarily use Twitter to participate in the #bfc530 chat, and plan to continue to do so, regardless of platform.
@heymrsbond The best PD I've ever had was led by fellow teachers at the old New England Association of English Teachers conferences. In particular, sessions on poetry slam, speaking skills, debate, writing portfolios, short stories, and analysis stand out. Focused and content specific!
