@JeffreeStar This is not what I expected to be doing at 4am today. Waiting an hour for a shipping option and throwing up from food poisoning... anxiety threw the roof!? Absolutely 😂😂😂
@CootesEliza@CootesEliza Yes!! This is such a simple idea that would really help students in every school understand the importance and how to recycle and compost. It would also help the schools reduce their environmental footprint by cutting down their landfill contributions too #sdg12
Did you know, #composting is an easy way to reduce landfill waste! By composting your food scraps, cardboard and paper waste we can create natural fertilisers perfect for any garden. #compost#UoNTeach#environment#sustainability
@DrSeuss#thelorax is an amazing book targeting the impacts our consumption can do to our environment. The book illustrates this through a variety of different ways and could easily be used as a classroom resource on #environment#sustainability. #sdg12#UoNteach
Although this is a UK based image. It clearly captures how our choices impact the environment. By teaching students about ways to better our ecological footprint we can help shape a better environment for future generations! #UoNTeach#environment#recycle#pasticwaste
This simple image shows what you should and shouldn't put in your compost. It is important to know how and what to compost and to teach our students this. What we do in school and in the classroom and have a greater impact outside #uonteach#compost#reduce#reuse#recycle
@CootesEliza I wish councils had these green bins in every town. It is so important to have a way to recycle and compost and know how to do it properly
@MissBrown1305 Yes, this book is awesome. It really breaks down how to teach Global Perspectives and how important it is to incorporate these throughout our teaching
@MissBrown1305 Yes! I think this is awesome. You could also easily combine it with a unit of work on sea life and show the impacts of plastics in our oceans and how much single use plastic is changing our world!!
This poster highlights the importance of #SDG12 and how being more aware of our consumption and reduction of food helps us not only eat better but live better. #uonteach#foodwaste ♻️
@AmandaSteff2 This is so cool. With the amount of bins all over the schools a massive school project like this could be awesome. It would also link a variety of subjects together as a massive cross curriculum project 😍♻️
@MorgynFrench Absolutely!! And there’s so many ways you can incorporate and reuse plastic bottles as part of a lesson. Something as simple as cutting them in half and making pot plant holders for a class garden ♻️🌳
Time for a new direction on plastics?
We have a plan to reduce plastic pollution in NSW including phasing out single-use plastics like straws, bags and disposal cutlery.
