@WednesdayWeird1 @cfconvention unfortunately i wish that was the case however some wheelchair users i spoke to said they didn’t even get accessible rooms either! i later found out a lot of the accessible rooms were taken by those who said they didn’t need them🫠

and i totally understand those who aren’t in wheelchairs also may require accessible rooms but i just feel as though it’s only fair to offer them up first to those who are in wheelchairs full time like myself and others who cannot attend without an accessible room!

i think fulltime wheelchair users should absolutely get the accessible rooms first before anyone else does. otherwise, we are literally left to drag ourselves on the floor, unable to shower or piss without one🥲🥲 pls do better next time

bathroom either and had to go down to lobby whenever i needed it. i do not think it’s wise to lottery off accessible rooms and instead, have a priority system in place so that those who cannot attend the con at all without an accessible room, get them first, then others do.

As much as I adore dealing at cfz, my table space going up from £180 this year to near £500 for next year is insane 😥

Then still got to pay for tickets for x2 of us, hotel, travel etc.

Genuinely don't think I can even afford to do it anymore 💔

@ShibiTCT also in that screenshot, as stated “ESAS are not defined in UK legalisation. it is unlikely to be a reasonable adjustment to give access to ESAS and dog who are not assistance dogs.” so no, they are not legally recognised in the UK and do not have access rights.

hey @MCMComicCon i just wanted to point out that “support animala/emotional support animals” are actually not legal nor are legally recognised in the UK. they do not have the same access rights that task trained assistance dogs have.

@ShibiTCT as stated, ESAS are not a legally recognised term in the UK. the NEC is not pet friendly apart from dogs which have qualified for crufts and assistance dogs only. mcm tends to happen in both EXEL and NEC. it’s a blurred line with laws which is a shame.

not only is this not legal, it’s putting legitimate workingassistance dog at a huge risk. please take this into account and fix this, i will not be attending mcm comic con until this is sorted.

i myself have an assistance dog and have been an assistance dog handler for the past 8 years. i know the laws like the back of my hand, please check out the equality act 2010 for more info.

@GrinningGriffon @eidosx333 @SpookyBeetle_ yeah haha my experience wasn’t great especially as i cannot walk at all and am stuck in my chair, it may be an active chair and is slim but i had to crawl on all 4s round my room, wasn’t ideal and my physio was not pleased with the aftermath of what it did to my joints🙃
