Ukrainian refugees are now being arrested by ICE agents who say they “support russia.”

A Ukrainian father, Dmytro Kulyk, escaped russian drone and missile attacks back home, only to be grabbed by a group of ICE agents in a Walmart parking lot in Minneapolis.

“I hoped I would find peace in America. I’ve done everything the government required. I don’t understand why I am behind bars,” Dmytro told The Daily Beast. “I came to America to escape the war, to pray in church, and to work hard.”

Dmytro was picking up an order at Walmart when he found himself surrounded by immigration agents. He had been working as a delivery driver to make ends meet, while also supporting his family by doing roofing work.

Dmytro legally entered the U.S. in late 2023 along with his 38-year-old wife and their daughter, who is now 5. The family was sponsored by U.S. citizens as part of the Uniting for Ukraine program, established in April 2022 to allow Ukrainians fleeing russia’s war to live and work in the U.S. on humanitarian parole.

Once the initial two-year parole period expires, participants can apply for re-parole to remain in the country longer. That’s exactly what Dmytro did. His wife’s and daughter’s applications were approved, but his remains pending.

He said he was putting groceries into his car when he was approached by three ICE agents:

“I explained to the ICE officers that the war was killing people, that my wife had a disability, that we had escaped violence and terrorism. But one of them began to laugh. I asked why he was laughing, and I was told that he was pro-russian and wanted russia to win the war.”

Dmytro cannot understand why he has been treated like a criminal. He did everything by the book, paid taxes, submitted his immigration paperwork on time, and worked multiple jobs to take care of his family. He has no criminal record.

Yet ICE arrested him, and now he faces deportation to a war-torn country.

This is the new reality of Trump’s America.

An America I hardly recognize anymore.

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents are stealing the personal belongings of U.S. citizens, and legal residents, they wrongfully detain… and are releasing them into the cold without giving their property back.

In this video, a woman is released after being wrongfully detained… without a proper coat… without her phone… without her ID… without money… left outside in freezing temperatures.

And it’s Haven Watch… not the government that took her… stepping in to give her a blanket, to make sure she’s safe, to explain her options, to treat her like a human being.

Think about how insane that is.

A federal agency, with billions in funding, wrongfully detains someone, takes their belongings, and then dumps them outside in the cold without basic necessities…

And after neighbors saw this happening over and over again, they didn’t look away.

They organized.

They formed Haven Watch… to stand outside detention facilities, to bring blankets, to offer rides, to make sure people aren’t dumped into the cold alone. To provide the emergency support their own government refuses to.

When agents take someone’s property without a lawful reason and don’t return it, they are violating the Constitution.

The Fourth Amendment still applies.
The Fifth Amendment still applies.

Those rights don’t disappear because DHS says so.

If U.S. citizens can be detained, stripped of their belongings, and released into freezing weather with nothing…

That’s systemic abuse.

It’s what happens when a government operates like accountability is optional.

And that should alarm everyone.
