So much truth in this post 🎯 Thank you ☺️
“Knowing what is good for us is rarely enough. We usually need a reason that matters to us now.”
“So look carefully at your own life.”
“Find that reason.”
“Then go for a walk. Start there …”
Nearly 30 years in orthopedic surgery has taught me that giving someone more information is often one of the least effective ways to change behavior. I can explain arthritis, muscle loss, cardiovascular risk, metabolic health, and frailty until I am blue in the face, and usually… absolutely nothing changes.
But... let's say a grandchild arrives. A trip involving hiking is considered. A spouse or close friend gets sick. Or perhaps someone simply realizes that getting off the floor has become much harder than it used to be.
Suddenly, the same person who “couldn’t find the time” starts walking, lifting weights, and paying more attention to what they eat.
I’ve seen this happen too many times to ignore it. Knowing what is good for us is rarely enough. We usually need a reason that matters to us now.
So look carefully at your own life. What do you still want to be able to do five, ten, or twenty years from now? Who do you want to keep up with? What part of your life would bother you most to lose?
Find that reason.
Then go for the walk. Start there...
3 month challenge until the end of 2026:
- No alcohol
- Lift 3x a week
- Walk 8k steps/day
- Journal once a day
- Replace social media for reading
- 15 minutes of morning sunlight every day
- Set a goal and do one thing every day to achieve it
Lock in for 3 months and hit the ground running by 2027.
2 types of people I want to see more of in the weight room:
1) Women
2) Old people
Women still think lifting weights makes them bulky, but it actually protects their independence as they age.
Old people think weights will injure them, but they actually protect them.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." Isaiah 43:2
Have you noticed that the community that is most vocal in warning about the Islamification of the USA is the GWOT veterans’ community?
That’s because we saw things with our own eyes that are hard for others to believe:
1. The treatment of women as chattel property. Goats are treated better than daughters—no exaggeration.
2. Widespread pedophilia and bestiality while at the same time people we call “LGBTQ+” in the West are subject to barbaric methods of execution.
3. An absolute lack of freedom of religion.
4. Wanton disregard for human life.
5. Insanely paranoid antisemitism straight out of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
6. Wholly corrupt governments; bribery as a uniform standard.
7. Tribalism to an extreme: tribe trumps truth and justice, always.
8. In the Gulf Arab countries, “Third Country Nationals” from poor Muslim countries engaged in menial labor and literally treated as slaves.
9. Absolute confidence that Islam will violently conquer the rest of the world, and a belief that this is just and proper.
10. Acceptance of the idea that lying can be and is necessary and proper.
These are not one-off observations; these are widespread norms that are easily observed and experienced in day-to-day life in any nation that accepts Sharia law. ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE COMMONPLACE. Having seen this stuff up close and personal across the entire Middle East, Central Asia and the Horn of Africa, American veterans have unwittingly become like the prophets of old, warning everyone else of the dangers we have seen that we never wish to see come ashore in America.
Yet somehow our voices are not being heard sufficiently, and we now see literal Communists wishing to import these evil practices to the USA en masse, as a path to their own power.
Guess what Commies? It’s the other way around, you are the ones being used and when the Green forces dispose of you Red forces, it’s not going to be pretty.
Wise up.
5 hobbies to delay aging:
1. A hobby that keeps you healthy
2. A hobby that brings you peace
3. A hobby that helps you stay creative
4. A hobby to connect with other people
5. A hobby that forces you to learn and grow
You don't need 20 random hobbies. You just need one from each of these pillars.
I am grateful and blessed to be at the age of 65. I am at the phase of life to figure out what comes next. These words and scripture speak to my heart and soul. Thank you Chad. Praise to the Lord 🙏🏻

Father,
Thank You that my hope is not limited by my age, my past, or the seasons behind me. Your mercies are new every morning, and Your faithfulness has no expiration date. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31).
Remind me that as long as You give me breath, You still have purpose for my life. Abraham was old when the promise came. Moses was eighty when You called him to confront Pharaoh. Caleb was eighty-five when he said, “Give me this mountain” (Joshua 14:12).
So renew my hope today. Restore the dreams that came from You. Give me courage for what is ahead, wisdom for this season, and strength for today’s assignment.
Teach me to say with the psalmist, “They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green” (Psalm 92:14).
I will not measure my future by the years behind me. I will measure it by the faithfulness of the God who goes before me.
My best days are not defined by youth, but by obedience.
Jesus, I trust You with whatever comes next.
Amen.
I’m a retired brain surgeon and I wanna tell you why you feel like life is passing by. I just need one minute to explain this to you so hang in there.
Repetitive daily routines stop the brain from recording clear detailed memories. When every day looks the same, your brain does not track time the same as a clock does. It tracks change. If nothing new happens then days, months, and years start to blur together.
This is know as Time compression. When life lacks variety, your brain compresses past days together, making it feel like time is sped up.
To stop feeling like life is passing you by, add new experiences to your life. Break routine habits, like changing your daily home routine, taking a different route to work, or trying a new hobby.
Schedule small trips or plan new adventures so your days do not blend together.
Practice mindfulness by staying fully focused on what you are doing right now and not trying to race off to the next task.
Keep a journal and write down happy memories or memorable parts of the day before you go to sleep.
Take deep, calm breaths when you feel anxious or rushed to return your focus to the moment.
You can and you will retrain your brain to not feel like life is passing you by by following these few simple measures.
When we encounter issues or circumstances that we just don't believe we can do what God asks in His Word; trust God in whatever He asks and believe He will keep His promises. I recommend reading these verses (or your favorite ones) over and over until they securely anchor your heart. Please read these scriptures in your Bible. I am using the NIV version of the Bible in this post. God bless you.
1. Isaiah 40:8 - "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever.”
2. Isaiah 55:11 - “...so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
3. Jeremiah 1:12 - "The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that My word is fulfilled.”
4. Numbers 23:19 - "God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?”
5. Deuteronomy 7:9 - "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
6. Joshua 23:14 - "Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.”
7. Psalm 89:34 - “I will not violate My covenant or alter what My lips have uttered.”
8. II Samuel 22:31 - "As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord's Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him.”
9. Proverbs 30:5 - “Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.”
10. Psalm 18:30 - "As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord's Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him."
11. Matthew 7:7 - "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
12. Matthew 5:18 - "For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”
13. I Corinthians 10:13 - "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
14. Luke 1:37 - "For no word from God will ever fail.”
15. Hebrews 10:23 - "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He Who promised is faithful.”
16. I Peter 5:10 - "And the God of all grace, Who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
17. II Peter 1:4 - “Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
WHEN IT FEELS LIKE GOD IS TAKING TOO LONG TO DELIVER JUSTICE AGAINST OUR ENEMIES REMEMBER THIS:
18. II Peter 3:9 - "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Many blessings to you.
Peace and be prepared.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You believing that You are still the God who breaks chains, opens prison doors, heals the brokenhearted, and sets captives free.
Jesus, You declared that You came “to proclaim liberty to the captives” (Luke 4:18). So today we stand on the freedom You purchased at the cross. Where sin has enslaved, bring deliverance. Where shame has imprisoned, speak grace. Where fear has controlled, release courage. Where lies have built strongholds, let the light of Your truth tear them down.
Lord, remind us that “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). We refuse to live as prisoners to things Christ has already defeated. Sin will not have dominion over us. Condemnation does not own us. Our past does not define us. Jesus Christ is Lord.
And Father, make us instruments of that freedom. Give us courage to walk into dark places carrying the light of Christ. Give us compassion for those who are bound, patience with those who are struggling, and boldness to proclaim the gospel that breaks the power of darkness.
You have delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of Your beloved Son (Colossians 1:13). Now send us out to proclaim freedom to others.
Break chains today, Lord. Open doors no human being can open. Restore minds, redeem lives, reconcile families, awaken hearts, and call prodigals home.
May captives discover that their chains are no match for the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
In the mighty and victorious name of Jesus, amen.

Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, humbled by the greatness of Your grace. We confess that we are guilty. We have sinned, fallen short of Your glory, and have nothing in ourselves that could ever earn Your mercy. Yet while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Thank You for Jesus. We praise You, Lord Jesus, because You are the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. You are our Savior, our Redeemer, our righteousness, and our hope. You took the judgment we deserved and gave us a grace we could never deserve. You bore our sin on the cross, conquered death through Your resurrection, and opened the way for guilty sinners to be reconciled to a holy God.
Father, thank You that our failures are not greater than Your mercy, that our sin is not stronger than the blood of Christ, and that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Thank You that where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.
Keep us humble before You. Never let us become casual about the price that was paid for our salvation. Teach us to live with gratitude, obedience, and worship. May our lives continually declare, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.”
Jesus, You alone are worthy of our praise. You alone are our hope. You alone are enough.
In the mighty and beautiful name of Jesus, amen.

Father,
You are the God who sees the road ahead when I cannot. Your Word tells me to “trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). So today, I surrender my plans, my assumptions, and my need to have everything figured out.
In all my ways, teach me to acknowledge You, trusting that You will make my paths straight (Proverbs 3:6). Give me wisdom from above, wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits (James 3:17).
Lord, guide me with Your Word. Let it be “a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105, ESV). When I am uncertain, remind me of Your promise: “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it’” (Isaiah 30:21).
Close the doors that would lead me away from Your will. Open the doors that accomplish Your purposes. Keep me from mistaking my own desires for Your direction. Search my heart, correct my motives, and give me the humility to follow wherever You lead.
Holy Spirit, lead me in truth. Jesus, go before me. Father, order my steps. I do not need to see the entire road when I know the One who leads me.
Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). May every decision I make glorify Christ, serve Your Kingdom, and conform me more fully to the image of Your Son.
I trust You with what I know, what I do not know, and what comes next.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.

Heavenly Father,
You alone are worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. You are holy, righteous, faithful, and good. Before the mountains were formed, You were God, and from everlasting to everlasting, You remain the same.
The heavens declare Your glory, and all creation testifies to Your power. You spoke, and worlds came into existence. You sustain all things by Your mighty hand, yet You draw near to the humble and hear the cries of Your children.
I praise You for Your mercy that is new every morning, for Your faithfulness that never fails, and for Your grace that I could never earn. “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name” (Psalm 103:1).
Above all, I praise You for Jesus Christ. Thank You for the cross, for the empty tomb, for sins forgiven, for death defeated, and for eternal life secured. Jesus, You are the Lamb who was slain and the King who reigns. Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess, and all creation will declare that You are Lord.
So today, regardless of my circumstances, I choose praise. You are good when life is easy, and You are good when life is hard. My circumstances do not determine Your worthiness.
“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised” (Psalm 145:3).
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
@tyromper Sounds like he started the cycle to break the chains of addiction for the family 🙏🏻 well done sir! 💪
I love to read about families working out together and keeping health as a priority. There’s no other way, money can’t buy it, you have to work for it.
