Think +ENSO/+PNA (another example of tropical convection -> high-latitude ridging) moved 180 degrees east.
Ukraine disabled the Armyansk bridge and hit up to 50 Russian trucks carrying ammunition and fuel overnight on June 11. The convoy had been concentrated near the bridge for movement toward the Huliaipole direction. The operation involved the 1st Assault Regiment, 475th Assault Regiment CODE 9.2 and SBU Alpha. #Ukraine
@mattyglesias I suspect that what'd happen instead then is that people start conflating different things of very different emotional and legal valence, some of which might not even be a crime (is "passing out in one's own vomit" necessarily downstream of a crime).
@addictedtoigno1 Pretty sure I already commented on this matter, but it's not a problem just of antibodies. When one uses NCBI Entrez one often sees papers conflating unrelated but synonymous proteins. I think the field needs more terminology discipline
@cremieuxrecueil@_djpn Channelling 2 arguments from @mattyglesias I figure the problem is that "homeless men who were known to the police" is such a broad undefined class that neither civil rights nor the budget will let you do this. Dunno if all people doing this are actually in your category, either.
@kane I don't think that doing so is usually an effective way to accomplish "efficiency and good governance" in practice? At least that's the empirical impression I have
@PikettyWIL "It" being these suggestions about growth caps and the like.
Issues like decarbonizing aircraft or concrete production might - probably are - tackleable, the designers questions about wealth taxes and international cooperation in taxation *might* be too but *that* isn't really.
@PikettyWIL I don't think the report actually supports that course of action. It's too much about "what to do" rather than "what else", unlike e.g IPCC's trajectories. Basic falsificationism means one needs to exclude the alternatives. And there is no evidence that it is socially feasible.
@M_C_Klein There is also living expectancy, subjective well being, relative migration rates, maybe even crime rates. They aren't very good for different reasons but not *worse* than the metric that suffers from the Easterlin effect and neglecting non-spending factors.
