Last year I raised $25k for the transplant clinic at @SVHSydney for @jexsta with the help of hundreds of donors. Today the team acquired new treatment chairs to make long treatments more bearable, and I couldn't be happier.
Recovering from December’s brain surgery, facing a long bout of rehab,& feeling generally rubbish. Geek Lord tells me that I now have 3 types of disability which will help me build better products for PWDs.
He’s right.

Evicted when we asked for leaking sewer to be repaired. When looking for new place, estate agents advised against putting my name on tenancy applications as I wasn’t working or on welfare. My #disability was seen as a risk to landlords. #PWDs#RealEstate

@Asher_Wolf Just for your info, sometimes if one state doesn’t offer a certain treatment you can get federal gov. funding to travel to clinics. Not ideal certainly, but it might be an option in the short term.
@Asher_Wolf Nurse tried to discharge me because I only had neck pain. Turned out my brain was making its way down my spinal column. If she’d got her way I would have died at home, bad enough that I almost died while under her ‘care’. Hope you’re feeling better btw.
I don't look disabled & regularly attract attention for parking in accessible spots. It's NEVER ok to ask someone to justify their need to use those spaces. Not all disability is visible. We don't need policing we want understanding. #invisibleillness https://t.co/N5zOXVzbkE
Hey @JobsforNSW I think you’ve had a data breech. I just got a message from someone called ‘I work for NSW’ phising for my personal information. Might be good to check on that & then maybe let your users know that it’s happened. #datasecurity
Lost a member of the lung transplant community yesterday. I knew her well & the loss was a shock to us all. The transplant gave her a few extra precious years to spend with us. Thank you to her donor for that precious gift.

First day of holiday (vacation) = blocked sewer overflowing up the driveway. Can’t believe all this crap was dumped on me at the last minute. Maybe if I cry the hotel will refund my money. Otherwise I’m really in the poop... #soManyPooPuns
Attending workshop on structured negotiation at #A11yCampMelb it’s interesting & I’m learning a lot which is why I’m now sitting in the back of the room crying. Thanks brain. #TBI#Accessibility
Attempting to write a talk on cognitive fatigue & impairment is fun when you have cognitive fatigue. Concentration now at 10 minutes max. This is going to take forever. #brainfog#traumaticbraininjury#spoonie
