This is such sad news. Marcia Lucas, the heart of George Lucas’s films made while they were married, has passed away. A very talented editor and key collaborator to George, she was erased from his life after they divorced. It’s sad that she was never able to say good by to him.
Everyone at Lucasfilm was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Marcia Lucas. One of three Oscar-winning editors who worked on Star Wars: A New Hope, she also contributed to American Graffiti, among other early Lucasfilm productions. We join the global filmmaking community in mourning her loss.

@pressurethefilm Visited Southwick House two weeks ago where this drama played out. The curator briefed us on the landing preparations, the deception operations, and the weighty decision Ike had to make. It’s quite a story.
The movie PRESSURE premiers in theaters today. It’s a story of the D-Day landing and the decision Eisenhower had to make to proceed or not given the severe weather forecast. The drama played out at Southwick House near Portsmouth. I visited the Map Room there two weeks ago.
I live in LA and enjoy tracking down filming locations from some of my favorite movies. Here is the location of the liquor store where officer Bud White (Russell Crowe) first meets Lynn Bracken (Kim Basinger) in LA CONFIDENTIAL.
Spoke to Rod Roddenberry at Yuri’s Night LA at Griffith Observatory. Had not seen him since the Emmy Award ceremony where his father was honored for Star Trek. We talked about the 3-ft Enterprise studio model adventure, which will hopefully come to a close soon.
Just spoke to Ed Dwight, America’s 1st black astronaut candidate in 1962. Ed was the inspiration for Victor Glover to become a pilot and astronaut, who just completed a voyage to the moon on Artemis II. Congratulations to Victor, who carries Ed’s legacy to ever greater heights.
@Rainmaker1973 Have always enjoyed the Feynman Point in pi, where six consecutive 9s appear. Richard Feynman is said to have wanted to memorize pi out to that point so he could recite it to people and say “9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9 and so on.”
One deep breath. A final adjustment. The edge right at the tips of your toes.
Are you going? Sailing along at sonic speeds like a freely flying squirrel.
Does "free as a bird" quite nail the exhilaration of soaring without any boundaries or constraints, other than your skill?
Even then, how do you pick your landing spot?
On this day in 1966, Gene Roddenberry screened #StarTrek's 2nd pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before," for Richard Matheson, George Clayton Johnson, Paul Schneider, Oliver Crawford, John Kneubuhl, and Meyer Dolinsky at Desilu. Each one would go on to write for The Original Series.
