My flabbers are gasted...
It degrades the office for the President to be hawking his watches on national TV.
I voted for him 3 times. I am still glad he's President.
Stupid crap like hawking namesake watches is irritating and downright ridiculous. Almost on a weekly basis Trump irritates me with his wildly aggressive, bully comments and tweets.
Sometimes I want to scream, "Donald just shut up!"
The reality? He's usually right, and America is winning at home and abroad because of it.
(It's still demeaning selling cheap watches!)
So, Jimbo will continue to be irritated and Trump will keep being right, irritatingly so.
I can live with that.
Am I the only person that feels this way?
I'm in my passive-aggressive phase! Y'all have a good night!
"Chuckles quietly and leaves the room."
Finland just voted to join the nuclear club. Not sure how I feel about that.
Ah... the military life!
And you thought "hurry up and wait" sucked. Soul numbing repetition. Bored brainless.
Then something happens... and it's time to get busy.
An alert. A recall. You’re briefed for an hour, but you've done this before. All you hear is...
"There's bad news. All we have to eat is shit sandwiches... But the good news? There is plenty to go around."
You saddle up.
I lived in the Great Plains for 13 years. You could see the violent storms coming in the distant horizon long before they arrived. Nature's way of saying, "Get Ready!" And we did.
Now I see violent instability on the horizon.
Mindfulness and forethought are being replaced by selfishness and cunning.
People boast and abuse their earned or delegated authority without owning the responsibility. Corporate and government corruption is a rampant result.
How does this have anything to do with storms in the plains? Very little. But there's a potential here. Remember, when we saw the clouds on the horizon, we prepared.
The horizon is cluttered now. Multitudes of foreign dangers lurk. Existential threats! Domestically it's worse and compounded by a generational lack of Mindfulness or forethought.
What have we done? The welfare state. Usury at all levels of lending. A do nothing legislature. A judiciary that makes laws irrelevant rather than enforcing them. The failed education system. Fraud that thrives off the taxpayer. All because powerful people exercised authority without bearing responsibility.
The schism, near to actual balkanism, is fracturing our country. Internal exhaustion and fear motivate actions now. It's a greater existential crisis than the external threats from abroad.
There is another form of authority. Moral authority. Consider the passerby that runs into a burning building knowing they may perish searching for survivors. That's moral authority exercising responsibility.
The question life keeps asking is, "Who wins?" In the short term, Corporate Thugs and Government Thieves are winning.
Tolerating corruption for short term pleasantries is slow suicide.
Your moral authority far exceeds the authority of the powerfully corrupt. But, like the passerby rushing into danger you gotta risk getting burned to save something bigger than you.
Find the ounces of truth hidden in the pounds of lies confronting you.
Do something.
This is beyond a conspiracy theory.
Eisenhower warned us. The military industry profits from chaos. September 11, 2001. 25 years of chaos.
@armed_house
Ever wonder how W is gonna answer the BLDG 7 question when St. Peter inquires? His super secret Yale boys (including dad) won’t be able to back him up. Probably warming up somewhere else…
As an old "airdawg" I have the utmost respect for you "teuful hunden", devil dogs! I know who carries the heaviest burden.
I live in a military town. There's Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, Airmen and Coasties everywhere. Since the global war on terror began, I see them often in camouflage, in town walking, in airports, restaurants, stores, banks, tax offices and even libraries. Never saw this in bars, nail salons or theaters, but I don't go to those. I respectfully disagree that camo is somehow disrespectful and not showing our best look in public. The citizenry is enlightened when they see the cold hard reality of service, we are not bureaucrats or office workers. We are warriors. Let the public see the green, especially the disheveled troop who just finished a 12 hour shift. Citizens benefit when exposed to the reality of service, not some sanitized view.
I know it's not a popular position. I'm old, popularity isn't important to me. Seeing the troops in public wearing camouflage doesn't offend me. It makes me proud.
