My son is 15
I never bought him a pride onesie when he was a baby.
I never read him a book that had two moms as part of the storyline.
When he was little stores and businesses didn’t have LGBTQ+ displays and we didn’t celebrate pride month.
He was raised Catholic, and went to church.
Guess what? He is gay.
The rainbow won’t make your kids gay. They are born that way. A display in a store won’t make your kid trans, they are born that way.
If you don’t love and accept them for who they are, YOU are a shitty parent.
They haven’t failed, you have.
@EdKrassen On a very hot day about 10 years ago my then 10 year old son sat down in the rotund. He and my husband were approached and told that he could not sit as it was a form of protest or demonstration which was not allowed in the Capitol!
I’m at a loss tonight! So many things going through my head. I want to put the blue square in support of the Jewish community, I want to equally support lgbtq+! But really I should call out those that need to educate themselves!
Everyday I work on being non judge mental (not always easy) and excepting of all lifestyles that don’t hurt unwilling participants! We need to do better!
