But of a joke that.

Odsonne Édouard has made an incredibly selfless decision ahead of the 2026 World Cup 😮👏
Édouard is eligible to play for Haiti, who have qualified for the tournament for the first time since 1974, but has turned down a call-up as he hasn't represented the nation before 🇭🇹
🗣️ Speaking after he helped Lens win their first trophy since 1999, he said: "I wouldn't feel legitimate playing in the World Cup because there were players who fought to qualify and I wasn't going to show up at the last minute to take advantage.
"Quite simply, if I'm going to play, I have to deserve it." 👊
It's every footballer's dream to play at the World Cup, but to look at it the way Édouard has is commendable 🙏
The SFA have released the audio from Celtic v Hearts which shows referee Don Robertson tell the VAR room that #HMFC are “happy” for the game to finish.
The ref then ended the match on 98mins and 7secs - over the additional 8mins of added time.

⚠️ Pitch inspection
Please be aware Aberdeen FC contacted the SPFL earlier this afternoon to arrange a pitch inspection ahead of this evening’s William Hill Premiership game between Aberdeen and Celtic.
Prolonged rain over the last few weeks has made the pitch heavy. The groundstaff have been working tirelessly to get it ready but there is an area of the surface at the Merkland end that is causing concern.
A referee will inspect the pitch at 4.00pm and we will update supporters as soon as a decision has been made.
Rodgers can’t continually be blamed for spending £26m on Trusty, Idah & Engels last summer, as if this somehow justifies the board’s parsimonious approach to spending.
Whether or not the scouting team or Rodgers himself identified these guys, it’s down to the ‘recruitment team’ to get them in at the best possible price.
This is down to negotiating skills, which Nicholson doesn’t possess.
How can anyone take him seriously?
Look at the negotiating efforts for those three players mentioned…
Rangers wanted Auston Trusty when he was at Arsenal.
Check out their valuation of the player:
https://t.co/D8vR3UrLVe
“It's believed Rangers would have to pay in the region of £2 million for Trusty's signature in the summer window.”
They were clearly miles off the valuation, and he left for Sheffield United.
But check this article out when our interest was initially reported:
https://t.co/ILknPJQVDT.
“I think if the potential is there to get anywhere close to the £5 million we paid for him, I think we do it.”
A strong negotiator would have saved a million quid in that deal.
When we brought Adam Idah in on loan, Norwich had been in negotiations with Hellas Verona with an option to buy.
Perhaps the £3.5m was unrealistic, but a good negotiator would have had a clause inserted at £5m-£6m, saving us another £3.5m.
https://t.co/v7aXmfls7e
“The Italians are believed to have made Norwich a loan offer, with a buy option in the region of €3.5m for the Republic of Ireland international, who is out of favour under David Wagner.”
And how did we go from €6.5m to £11m on Engels?
Dreadful negotiating skills:
https://t.co/F37hca4gBq
“It is understood that the Scottish champions submitted a bid in the region of €6.5 million but are expected to come back with an improved offer.”
So the £26m could have been £6m-£7m less if Michael Nicholson was competent at his job.
Yet, all we hear is Rodgers can’t be trusted with transfers.
It’s a lazy take on recruitment.
