The number of Americans making jokes about Canada’s wildfire smoke is pretty pathetic.

When your forests are burning, Canada sends firefighters, aircraft, equipment, and crews without hesitation. We don’t sit online making memes while your communities are evacuated.

Smoke doesn’t stop at a border. Wildfires don’t care what flag you wave. We help because that’s what good neighbours do.

So maybe show a little gratitude, or at the very least keep the smug comments to yourselves. Acting like assholes while Canadians are losing homes and firefighters are risking their lives isn’t the flex you think it is.

What did you expect when your administration launched a trade war and hit our nation with completely unnecessary tariffs?

What did you expect from your once closest ally, the very nation that rushed to your side on 9/11?

Did you forget Operation Yellow Ribbon, when Canadians opened their homes to house and feed over 33,000 stranded passengers from 239 diverted American flights?

What did you expect when we bleedingly stood by you in Afghanistan, sacrificing Canadian soldiers and civilians in your longest war?

Did you think Canadians would just lie down when there was absolutely no recognition of our sovereignty?

What did you expect when the White House trolled us on social media, calling Canada a "51st state" and labeling a Prime Minister a "future governor"?

What did you expect our response would be?

And how your Fox media and MAGA supporters claim we need the U.S. for protection.

Let us be clear: Canada NEVER once asked you for protection. We are EQUAL partners sharing the sky through NORAD, yet you allow these lies to keep spinning.

What did you expect when your ambassador, Pete Hoekstra, chose to amplify the offensive "51st state" insult online, later dismissing it as just a "great discussion"?

What did you expect when your administration arrogantly declared they "don't need anything Canada has"?

So, what did you expect when we decided to fight back?

We did not break; we stood our ground....

What did you expect when we banned your goods from our shelves and began our pivot away from your nation to forge new, trustworthy partnerships globally and reaffirm our trustworthy NATO allies?

After many years of loyal alliance, it seems Canada did more for you than you ever did for us....

Now that Canada is moving forward without you, we leave you with one final question:
