@9MassHysteria9 @minc798 There’s quite a few office to residential conversions downtown. But there’s not a lot of empty office buildings in Wicker Park or most of the neighborhoods where people want to live

@minc798 Some things that might delay this: the planned development expires after today, and the NIMBYs at the Wicker Park committee have talked about taking action if construction doesn’t start before expiration

@TheMindScourge There were no skyscrapers built between 1935-1954 in Chicago and the city was losing population by the time these 3 supertalls were built. By comparison, the city is currently gaining population and currently building skyscrapers.
