@Randy000001 @SouthwestAir I’m not asking the airline to keep other people from bringing nuts on the plane, I’m just asking that they not serve them. They care enough about liability to get rid of peanuts. The point is to not have to use the EpiPen mid-air if it can be avoided.

@SouthwestAir We did. They didn’t serve pistachios to his row and then told us we could move to the back of the plane if we had a problem with them serving other rows. He still must have come into contact with residue because his eyes were red and swollen by the end of the flight.

Hey @SouthwestAir I would like to avoid having to use an epi-pen on my child mid flight. What can you do to ensure he’s not exposed to pistachios you are now providing on flights (even trace amounts are triggering).

@SouthwestAir according to @NIH the prevalence of pistachio nut allergy seems to be increasing at a global scale. Why would you want to introduce that as a snack option? Especially after getting rid of peanuts.

@SouthwestAir Pistachio allergies are considered a serious food allergy, classified by the FDA as a major tree nut allergen that requires mandatory, clear labeling on packaged foods.

@SouthwestAir WHY would you introduce a known allergen to your snack lineup! Finding out inflight that you are serving pistachios when my son has a severe allergy made for the most stressful two flights for our family. What can we do to ensure our child’s safety while flying?
