America is not a nation “built by immigrants.” America was built by settlers. There’s a difference. Settlers ventured out into the wilderness to build a civilization from scratch. The modern immigrant comes to a place that is already built. Settlers planted the trees. The modern immigrant comes to eat the fruits. Delhi gets a bad reputation amongst travellers, who tend to see it as a grotty urban jungle.

Quite insightful but not very surprising. Half of Indian tourist visitors abroad go to Thailand , Malaysia and Other far east countries. Looks at abyssal numbers from those countries, especially when India is a “mecca” of Buddhist pilgrimage circuit

That’s rank ~85, less than the Philippines and Botswana!

Every year, ~2.5M Indians move abroad.

Indians are the largest overseas diaspora with 30M+ people. In comparison, ~30M in India make 10LPA ($12k/yr). People who leave far outnumber those who return!
