You need a better system to read notes/scripts when addressing people directly. It is distracting and non-genuine when your eyes are darting to the side to read the material. Vlogger-style autocues are very inexpensive if that’s the vibe you’re going for.

In your position you should really be able to speak about things like this off the cuff anyway.

My post was not meant as a “You’re wrong!” post, but more that this choice will have more or less benefits to the individuals and they have the right to make that informed choice if the option is there.
It would be helpful, if something like this went ahead, for the government to include at the time of application a calculator where the individual could enter in their current age and super balance, and it could then say “this could affect your retirement balance by approx X dollars if your proceed” so the person can make an informed choice.

The plan would only be allowed for a max of 3 years. Surely $9K is not going to cause a reduction of $350K. You’re also assuming a full 40 years of compounding which only would apply to someone just starting their career. People opting for this option (and it is a voluntary opt-in option) would likely be in the middle of their career with a mortgage and a family and their future compounding losses would be much less.
