Taurine protects the thyroid against fluoride, lead, and organophosphate insecticides.
Fluoride exposure can lower thyroid hormone release, and taurine can mitigate this according to animal research.
Lead and organophosphate insecticides inhibit thyroid hormone conversion, lowering the active thyroid hormone T3 (triiodothyronine).
Human equivalent doses are 1-2g/day.

Baking soda reduces serious damage from kidney disease.
Recent meta study - baking soda:
◇ Reduced hospitalization by >60%
◇ Improved kidney function (eGFR)
◇ Preserved muscle tissue
By reducing excessive acidity that damages kidneys + drives up ammonia and inflammation.
Doses were to keep bicarbonate levels adequate.
Slightly elevated systolic blood pressure main downside.
What are the signs of a Kidney imbalance?
Signs on the face:
- Dark circles
- Puffy face
- Bags under the eyes
- Premature aging
Signs in the Body:
- Feeling stressed
- Feeling afraid
- Knee or back pain
- Salt cravings
- Frequent urination
- Hormonal imbalances
- Reproductive issues
- Low motivation
- Poor memory
- Ringing in the ears
- Poor hearing
- Premature greying of the hair or loss of hair
- Osteoporosis or brittle bones
- Adrenal issues
Did you know your skin beauty reflects your kidney health? In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the two are deeply connected:
1- Moisture: Kidneys regulate water balance, affecting dry or puffy skin.
2- In TCM, the kidneys are said to "manifest in the hair." Thinning hair, brittle nails, and dull skin often indicate kidney deficiency
3- The kidneys are associated with fear and willpower in TCM. Emotional imbalances related to fear can impact kidney health and indirectly affect skin vitality.
4- Detox Role: In TCM, the kidneys assist in filtering impurities from the body. If the kidneys are not functioning optimally, the skin may take over as a secondary detox organ, leading to issues like acne, eczema, or other eruptions
Healthy kidneys, radiant skin!
Collagen supplements are incredibly powerful, despite what some people say....
Collagen production declines after your 20 years old, because our body cannot synthesize enough of the amino acids required to make it.
That is why you need to supplement it, or need it in your diet.
Studies consistently show:
- collagen supps improve skin elasticity, hydration and wrinkles
- collagen improves hair and scalp health
- collagen improves joint health
- glycine (30% of collagen) improves sleep
- glycine lowers inflammation
- in animals, glycine boosted longevity up to 50%
Your body can only make 3g of glycine a day. For collagen turnover, you need at least 12g of glycine. Glycine is also required for glutathione synthesis, creatine synthesis, bile production and so much more.
People taking 10g-20g of my collagen a day, consistently report their hair doubling in growth and nails tripling in growth speed.
Our ancestors ate a full cow nose to tail, which is approximately 40% - 50% collagen by protein weight.
Modern diets are incredibly deficient in these amino acids.
If you're not taking collagen, you're seriously missing out.
Most people are scared of post-meal walks, as some practitioners still advise:
“Don’t walk after eating. It will disturb digestion and strain the heart.”
But when we look at how the human body actually works, this fear doesn’t hold up.
After a meal, blood flow naturally increases to the gut to support digestion and absorption. A gentle walk does not interrupt this process. The body is designed to handle movement after eating.
In fact, light walking helps the body deal with the meal better:
It activates insulin-independent glucose uptake (GLUT-4 in muscles), which means muscles absorb glucose directly. This reduces post-meal sugar spikes and improves metabolic control.
From a heart health point of view, the bigger risk is not walking.
It is sitting still for long periods after eating.
Prolonged sitting after meals is linked with:
higher blood sugar spikes
higher triglyceride load
more vascular (blood vessel) stress
A gentle walk actually helps reduce this load by improving circulation and glucose handling.
But the most important factor is often ignored:
How you eat matters more than what you do after eating.
Eating in a calm parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) state supports digestion, gut function, and even cardiovascular balance.
Whereas eating in a stressed sympathetic state (rushing, scrolling, working, emotional stress) itself puts more strain on digestion and the heart than a light post-meal walk ever will.
One more important point:
In insulin-resistant people, intense fasted morning walks can sometimes increase cortisol and worsen morning sugar over time. So context matters.
So, a gentle post-meal walk is not harmful. It is often beneficial.
What matters more is a calm eating state and avoiding prolonged inactivity after meals.
Collagen supplements are controversial because most ignore the single fact that:
-Every single study showing massive benefits included vitamin C
and
-The ones that showed no benefits did not include vitamin C
This is why only industry-funded studies usually show benefits.
Without vitamin C, underhydroxylated procollagen chains cannot form stable helices, leading to intracellular degradation or secretion of weak collagen that fails to assemble properly.
The point being that their combination works far better than either used alone.
In early studies, for example, they gave people 1.0 g ascorbic acid and 0.2 g pantothenic acid for 21 days and nothing really happened in terms of wound healing for example.
Boiling orange peels and making marmalade out of them extracts nobiletin and other polymethoxylated flavones which are very protective for dopaminergic neurons.
They also have great effects when it comes to the gut microbiome and promoting a healthy circadian rhythm.
Aspirin was developed to treat pain.
Nobody expected it to also:
→ Lower cortisol and stress amplification
→ Enhance T3 uptake into cells (you run warmer, more pro-metabolic)
→ Oppose estrogen dominance in men and women
→ Lower iron via aspirin metabolites that chelate excess iron
→ Reduce prostaglandins (the drivers of pain, swelling, and hormonal imbalance)
→ Protect against lipid peroxidation
→ Improve erectile function through better blood flow
→ Show therapeutic potential against multiple cancers
→ Improve skin quality
→ Support liver fat reduction
I did a 4g daily megadose experiment.
Ferritin dropped. Inflammation dropped. Warmth improved.
For a headache pill, it does a lot of things nobody talks about.
It's the most accidentally powerful drug in your medicine cabinet.
Your digestion has five steps. Most people are working on step four.
Stomach acid is step one. Enzymes are step two. Bile is step three. Absorption is step four. Elimination is step five
Probiotics are a step four intervention. So are most gut supplements. So is most of what the functional medicine industry recommends as a first move.
Skip to step four while steps one, two, and three are failing and the probiotics land in a broken environment. The enzymes you're taking are compensating for a step that should be working on its own. The supplements are downstream of the problem.
The sequence matters more than the intervention. Same compounds, different order, completely different results.
Response to glucose varies from person to person. Some people experience shakiness, anxiety, fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, or brain fog even with small rises or drops in blood sugar, while others may tolerate larger fluctuations without symptoms.
This often reflects how sensitive or resistant the body’s cells are to insulin and glucose shifts. In some people, cells over-respond to insulin, causing glucose to fall rapidly. In others, cells respond poorly to insulin, leaving glucose elevated for longer periods.
But beneath both patterns, mitochondrial health may play a major role.
Mitochondria are the energy-producing parts of cells. If they are stressed or dysfunctional due to chronic inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, sleep disruption, infections, sedentary lifestyle, or long-term metabolic stress, cells may struggle to properly use glucose for energy.
This can contribute to unstable energy levels, insulin resistance, reactive symptoms after meals, fatigue, and poor metabolic flexibility.
Blood sugar regulation is not just about glucose itself. It reflects the health and adaptability of the entire cellular energy system.
Endotoxin messes with thyroid hormones, causes type 2 diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, depression, sex hormone dysregulation, liver disease, and dementia.
Vitamin A reduces the effects of endotoxin and helps clear endotoxin from the blood much more rapidly.
“Vitamin A reduces the pathophysiological effects of endotoxin in animals, but the mechanism and the lowest effective dose are not clear.”
“The half-life of endotoxin (in the blood) was half as long when vitamin A was given for prophylaxis (median 35 min) and for treatment (33 min) than in the controls (67 min).”
“A fairly low dose of vitamin A reduced the half-life of endotoxin.”
With retinyl palmitate (vitamin A) pretreatment... “Endotoxin levels in serum were lower” and the authors concluded that pretreatment “counteracts the progressive increase in serum endotoxin levels.”
In another study, pigs already undergoing endotoxin infusion were given vitamin A. The study reported less blood-pressure disturbance, lower lung weight, less lung edema, and faster neutrophil recovery. “Several manifestations of endotoxaemia were expressed less in the vitamin A group.”
Ref:

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but when you lose fat too fast, the toxins stored in that fat can get released into your blood. They don’t just “pass through” and magically disappear. They can spike and stay high in your bloodstream for months or longer, re‑exposing your organs the whole time. The worse your health and the more toxic you are, the worse both fasting for detox and aggressive fat loss tend to be.
The solution is the art of fasting without fasting: eating in a way that protects against stress and reduces toxicity, instead of forcing your body into a jolted “detox” state.
Few people know this
collagen hydrosylate (a form of gelatin that dissolves in cold water) improves joint health and provides arthritis relief for humans and animals
Aspirin reduces oxidative stress and muscle damage during exercises, while promoting proper mitochondrial function during exercise.
This study (in elite Taekwondo athletes) shows that aspirin before exercises lowered post-workout lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)
Amazing!
