‘Let’s plan an event like last year’

But then:

- Absurd staff costs.
- 30,40, or even 50% of attendees register the week before the event.
- Constantly delayed flights.
- Multiple events for the same audience at the same time.
- Sponsors sign up a couple of weeks before the event.
- Venues booked three years out.
Layoffs.
- Education budgets gone.
- Attendance is reported down across the board by 20% (other than trade shows)
- AV costs are out of control.

If you plan like last year you are in trouble.
