@Ms_C_Squared@iteachmathAll Plus was helpful during distance learning. Many students watched the videos. Also, if you wanted to create your own video that you want them to watch, post it to YouTube, you can include it in the assignment. This is super helpful for announcements. You can see who has viewed it.
My 13 year old niece has shown talent and enthusiasm for science, so I asked her if she wanted any science book as a present. She said “actually I love math”.
Would @stevenstrogatz , @benorlin and others be so kind and suggest some appropriate books for her?
I just presented a session at #OAME2019 on using Twitter as a PLN. Here are some tips to move beyond just "Lurking" and to increase the presence of your Tweets. Feel free to share more ideas in the comments

Friends, today is the day. This morning I will run the first class for our new final year module Game Theory and Recreational Mathematics. It’s a module about solving problems and communicating mathematics, via investigating puzzles and games.
Today I got my first copy of my book.
Speechless. Grateful. Wondering what the 2013 version of me (who almost decided not to illustrate his blog) would think.
I'm hardly unbiased, but if you're at all interested, preorder it. You won't be disappointed!
(1) Teachers should prepare with purpose for their lessons.
(2) Students should understand the purpose of their work by the end of class.
Neither of those goals requires posted objectives at the start of class. https://t.co/dMCsiXjfYj
In talk about @SFUSDMath de-tracking math and changing pathways, Jim Ryan says "Are we still keeping the pipeline to calculus full? The stats say it's more full and diverse than it’s ever been" to a round of applause #NCTMannnual
@NatBanting@mathinyourfeet@wheeler_laura@JudyLarsen3 In my research I found that a typical classroom has 14 opportunities for students to think. The degree to which students are thinking during these opportunities defines whether a classroom is a thinking classroom or not.
@PaiMath @wheeler_laura@mathgrlzrock The framework emerged in working with teachers new to #ThinkingClassrooms. For teachers with experience I find the framework tends to look more like this.
