Happy #EarthDay! My staff and I spent the morning with neighbors, in service to our corner of this beautiful planet. I thank the participants and organizers, including @TonawandaYPR, COT Neighbors United, Mayor Austin Tylec and the NT Waterfront Commission, and @hertelave.
Here it is! The mural planned for the exterior of the Town of Tonawanda Aquatic & Fitness Center, to be painted this spring by its designer, Buffalo artist Cassandra Ott. Funding Cassi's commission is a $36,000 @NYSOCFS grant I secured for a public art project in the 140th.
Had a great meeting Friday with @ErieCountyESU's Fire Safety Division Deputy Commissioner Chris Couell and Deputy Fire Coordinator Alex Doll, about fire service recruitment and retention. (Alex also serves Brighton Volunteer Fire Co #5!) Their insight is invaluable to me.
Having driven through Clarence, Amherst/Williamsville, and Tonawanda/Kenmore to get home (AFTER bans lifted), Tonawanda’s and Kenmore’s snow removal is top notch.
Yesterday, Kenmore East lost legend Richard “Dick Sparky” Adams. He coached the bulldogs from ‘64-‘77. Coach Adams is the winningest coach in Kenmore East History. As he always said, “Once a bulldog, always a bulldog.”

A big thank-you to Assembly Speaker @CarlHeastie for his visit today to the Town of Tonawanda, where he helped announce $2 million in state funding for the construction of a splash park at Brighton Park - a recreation facility for users of all ages and abilities.
The governments of the Tonawandas are teaming up to support our neighbors in Buffalo as they deal with the unspeakable tragedy that resulted in the loss of 10 lives on 5/14. We are collecting personal care items through June 5. Drop off point: Tonawanda Municipal Building.
It was my honor to visit The Ken-Ton Closet to present them with a NYS Senate Empire Award to celebrate their 9th anniversary!
A great resource for kids in Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda, providing access to clothing and more. Thanks to @jillyomalley and all the volunteers.
Sherry McDonald of Tonawanda recently shared this view on her drive home. Share your photos and videos using the Near Me feature on the WGRZ app and they could be used on-air and online. #BeOn2

A momentous occasion, watching today as an all-women slate of Democratic candidates was sworn in, each to begin 2022 as a Tonawanda Town Board member. Congratulations @jillyomalley, @Shannon_Patch and @OnBoardWithGina!
