@Rubber20999@NateSilver538 I thought we were talking about 2012? And a Dem winning in MA being the equivalent of a Rep winning in Alabama? Charlie Baker's 2018 margin was 33% to Warrens 24%, and he got 100,000 more votes than she did in the same election. MA very Dem now, much more balanced then.
@NateSilver538 Does using cliff notes instead of reading middlemarch and the magic mountain count as cheating? I cracked after suffering through sense and sensibility.
@jonfavs@elonmusk Musk donating $25 million is the equivalent of the average person donating $10. Roughly 0.005% of his net wealth (depending on the day).
@DouthatNYT There's 40,000 kids a year that have straight A's and score 1500 on the SAT. By sheer numbers there's no way they will all get into every school on their list. And your narrative about Ivy League kids that can't read novels and need remedial algebra is a fabrication.
@ForecasterEnten Most americans are happy with their health care because most americans are healthy. The 5% of americans with serious health problems account for 50% of health care expenditures. Insurance companies improve profits by targeting that 5%. Leaving everyone else relatively happy.
@EWErickson Odd. You seemed to have missed this from Thursday September 26, which was the day before the flooding in NC. Includes the deployment of 200 national guard troops, and the president granting a Federal Emergency Declaration.
