With the terrible, horrible very bad air in so much of the US, here is a video I made showing how you can make your own air filter for cleaner air. At home with just a few items. https://t.co/72Ojkpkgb9

Great video on making a Corsi-Rosenthal Box (I love the extra "helper.")
Simple, inexpensive, easy-to-build and very effective.
Perfect for wildfire smoke!
Excellent point! Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes have been shown to be very effective in reducing wildfire smoke to safe levels. Homes. Shelters. Schools. Etc. All need clean air!
The same holds true for all filters. They actually become MORE EFFICIENT on particles less than 0.3 um. This graph gives a good depiction of how filters work.
HEPA filters don’t stop working below 0.3 µm. Around 0.3 µm is usually the most penetrating particle size (MPPS)—the “weak spot” that’s hardest to filter. Below that, diffusion (Brownian motion) becomes very effective, so HEPA can capture nanoparticles extremely well.
Dear neighbors:
No, my house is not on fire.
I’m just burning paper in a pan in my garage to generate particles to test out my CR box with a new particle counter.
Don’t you ever do that?!? 🙃
@CRFoundationUS
This is fantastic!
CR boxes made in England with locally sourced filters and fans. Very effective air cleaning at a low cost.
Thanks for providing clean air to your children's classrooms and for making a difference.
I don't know why I didn't think of this before! The local paper is automatically delivered free to thousands of people in my community.
Since it landed on everyone's doormats I've had about ten people wave in the street and holler, " hey, saw your article!"

@Engineer_Wong You are correct. A lower efficiency filter can give a higher CADR when used with a higher air flow fan. But CADR is only part of the equation when it comes to particle removal. It is Filter + Flow + Frequency. The more ACH the lower the particle levels.
BIG things are coming!!
The CR Foundation board gathered (in-person & virtual) this past weekend to chart our path forward.
We can’t wait to share what we have up our sleeves.
@CorsIAQ@JimRosenthal4@Liesl4CleanAir
(And we got to feed Protege!)
The Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation is engaged in a project supplying CR boxes & @cleanairkits to a few schools in Texas. We're tracking various metrics & hope to have some interesting data to share next year.
Thank you to all who support our Foundation that make this work possible.
@VentiloAngel@LazarusLong13 I like it. There are no “rules” for making a CR Box. Just a filter and a fan will help clean the air. The HRV is a good way to increase clean outside air. Well done!
@michael_hoerger This looks like an excellent program. I think the Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation would support it with free filters. https://t.co/RehmKJrBNX
My Mini Modular Corsi-Rosenthal Box. Filters about one year old. They look pretty dirty, but are still working well. My wife thought they looked bad and needed to be changed. We voted on it. The new filters look really good!
Every school near this massive wildfire should have a CR Box (or equivalent) ready to deploy.
Emergency preparedness must include tools to clean the air.
