How shameful it is that for an FIR to be registered for a brutally injured student, Sahil Lochab’s mother had to run from one police station to another for five weeks, and the Leader of the Opposition had to sit on a protest for four hours just to get an FIR lodged.

The SHO allegedly told Sahil’s mother that there were “orders from above” not to take the case.

Sahil had pellets lodged in his eye and underwent two surgeries, yet no FIR was registered.

The BJP lied on the floor of the Indian Parliament that no pellets were fired.

Yet the AIIMS medical records, the General Diary, and CRPF and RAF’s own reports say otherwise.

Then, after Rahul Gandhi’s dharna, the FIR was suddenly registered.

How did it suddenly become possible?

The FIR is only the beginning.

#Pune, August 21, 2026: Tension briefly gripped the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) campus after ABVP and NSUI workers reportedly came face-to-face over invitations for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programme.

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to attend the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event in Pune on August 22, where he is expected to interact with students. Ahead of the programme, Congress and NSUI office-bearers have been visiting colleges across the city and inviting students to attend the event.

As part of the campaign, NSUI workers visited COEP to invite students to the programme. However, NSUI alleged that ABVP workers threatened students and asked them not to attend the event.

Following the allegations, ABVP and NSUI workers confronted each other on the COEP campus. A heated argument reportedly broke out between members of the two groups, creating tension on the college premises for some time.

Pune Police reached the spot after being alerted about the situation and intervened to bring the situation under control. Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar also arrived at COEP following the incident.

The confrontation has drawn attention ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘#ChhatronKiGoonj’ programme, with tensions between the two student groups now coming into focus ahead of the event.
