A message I recently sent to some guy friends:

This is the same thing I’ve said for years, to all men, and it’s this: the fastest way to destroy feminism is for men to control their sexual faculties. Saying “no” to the diabolical temptations we all experience is the predicate to saying “no” to all this diabolical insanity in the world. We defeat the evil city within ourselves, then the evil city outside. This helps produce courage and fortitude within the soul, and both are required for all of this to end. Whenever we choose sin, we become weak. Our courage dissipates, because we’ve battered down the wall to the city of our own soul.

Women will always struggle with the curse of Eve. That will always be there. But Adam saying “no” stops much of it in its tracks. We must constantly fight against our own curse that makes us prone to cowardice and weakness, none of which we can do without God’s help obtained through the sacraments, prayer, and penance.

I believe that women rallied around Lindsay Clancy, in part, because she’s not a threat to them. She’s rather homely and somewhat plain-looking.

Had Lindsay Clancy been a younger, more physically attractive woman, she would’ve been demonized.

🚨 Walmart just updated their privacy policy and going forward they will be collecting all this information from you:

- Name
- IP address
- Social media information
- Browsing and search activity
- Keystroke patterns
- Voiceprint
- Iris and retina imagery
- Face geometry
- Palm prints
- Fingerprints
- Household income
- Education
- Professional and employment information
- Family health
- Exact device location
- Email address
- Shipping address
- Criminal history / background check
- Individual preferences
- Characteristics
- Shopping patterns and behaviors
- Spending tendencies
- License plate data with automated readers in their parking lots
- In-store surveillance camera footage
- In-store mobile device location with Wi-Fi

They will collect some of this data with their app, and some will be collected just from you walking into a store or pulling into a parking lot

- Walking into a Walmart their policy lists then use their cameras to get a face geometry as something they may collect
- License plate readers in parking lots with time and location stamps
- If your phone is in their store and connected to WiFi they can log your location
- If you call into customer service they can voiceprint

How the heck is this legal?? We need new privacy laws immediately

@GrowlyGrr Give out what you would want back, is how I have lived. We've had a few accommodating landlords, when $ got tight. I always fix what I can, if they buy parts. Good landlords deserve more respect than they get; that's why all corporate owners are dicks now. Glad to hear you care.

@tyromper @GH_FightPoverty Prayers. And one time I was scrambling to provide dinner for 3 kids under 6, while mom was gone for the evening. It was dino nuggies, Mac & cheese and corn on the cob for all 4 of us; plus on the floor in front of PBSkids. Happy times.

Many of us today think that we’re a good person if we live our lives in peace, love our family, pay our taxes, don’t bother our neighbors, and enjoy our friends.

But there is no virtue in loving those who already love us, nor is there anything special about being kind to those who agree with us. Anyone can do that.

Many people live their lives surrounded only by an echo chamber and then think they themselves entitled to a reward for goodness. Sorry, folks; that’s called “normal”.

Virtues require hard work. It means loving people who disagree with us. Who aren’t as “cool” as we are.

If I only love people who love me, Jesus says, I am no better than a pagan.

““If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.”

God isn’t handing out participation trophies. He expects us to work and to love without conditions. To do good for His sake, to give without expecting anything back, and to be kind out of obedience to Him, not because others deserve it.

“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”
Luke 6:35-36 ESV

Jesus gave us His life. Surely we can give a bit to others. Jesus doesn’t ask us to pay Him back. Certainly we can give to others the same way.

Virtue is love without expectation of anything in return. It’s done because it’s right, not because we’re owed something.

If we love with strings attached, God is not impressed. If we think we deserve a reward for being kind to likeminded friends, we are delusional. Why should easy things earn rewards?

There’s no virtue in doing the bare minimum, yet our current society seems to think it’s a miracle. It does not know love the way Jesus defines it.
